About this ebook

We all know people who suffer from migraine headaches. They are quite prevalent. Yet, few people who have migraines know what to do about their condition. Some don’t even know what it is or how to manage the pain or how to prevent an attack.

The good news is that there is a lot that we could do about migraine headaches! We don’t have to just sit passively by and wait for more attacks. We don’t have to feel powerless. We can actually take steps to manage our lives and live the best possible lives, despite the fact that we experience migraines.

Some migraines occur without any warning—such as migraines that are triggered by pressure changes or sudden temperature changes. Hormone headaches also occur for women more than men. We have no control over those changes in our environment or body. So, the best thing we can do is to take steps not to add more triggers to the equation. I will show you how to do this in this e-book.

However, the good news? MOST migraine headaches can be eliminated or avoided altogether by living a well-balanced and healthy life. It is within our power to do so, one moment and one day at a time. Again, I will show you how to do that in this e-book.

We can actually take steps to manage our lives and live the best possible lives, despite the fact that we experience migraines.

However, the good news?!!! MOST migraine headaches can be eliminated or avoided altogether by living a well-balanced and healthy life. It is within our power to do so, one moment and one day at a time. Again, I will show you how to do that in this e-book.

The twenty self-management tips outlined in this e-book will show you how to manage your migraine attacks or to prevent triggers in the first place.

To prevent migraine attacks altogether, we have to change certain habits and dietary mannerisms. We also have to take care to sleep well and to avoid certain beverages such as fermented drinks and caffeine. You don’t have to do all of these things at once. But gradually, you can take steps to avoid these triggers.

    My Mantras for this E-book

    1. Migraine is a treatable illness—you can feel much better.

    2. You have a right to make your health a priority.

    3. Controlling migraines is 50 percent education and 50 percent treatment.

    Migraine Headaches

2.7 million Canadians experience migraines. This number is probably on the lower end of the scale because few people report having migraine headaches. Many people experience headaches, but they never inquire into the type of headaches that they have.

Thirty million people in the United States get migraines. Almost half have never been diagnosed with migraine, and another 25 percent have been misdiagnosed with other ailments.

A migraine is not merely a headache. It is a neurological disorder of the brain. The pain that results from a migraine attack can range from debilitating to severe and the worse pain that one can have.

Women suffer from more migraine attacks than men do. And many women will say that the pain that results from migraines is far worse than even child birth! So, migraine pain can be very bad, depending on the person and situation.

There are three keys to keeping migraines at bay. They are as follows:

    1. You can prevent them by making sure that you do not set off the chemical reaction that leads to an attack. This means making your health a priority, and identifying and avoiding your personal migraine triggers.

    2. Abort them when they get started. You’ll learn how to halt a migraine in its tracks when you feel one coming on before you get sick in this e-book.

    3. Rescue the situation. When you aren’t able to prevent or abort a migraine, you can still reduce the severity of the pain, and the length of your attack.

Before we begin with tips to manage your migraine attacks, let’s take a quiz.

Answer the following questions as true or false
