About this ebook

Book Two: Chasing Love
When Claire Mather agrees to be her best friend Elle’s bridesmaid, she inadvertently agrees to walk down the aisle with Elle’s fiancé’s brother, Jonathan Charmant. Jonathan doesn’t believe in love, and finds all the comfort and fulfillment he needs in the newest technology and in the many women who throw themselves at him. But once Claire and Jon meet at the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, all the pre-conceived ideas they had fly out the window. Jon cannot understand why Claire wants nothing to do with him, and he goes on a mission to win her affections enough to bed her, but when the challenge proves too much, and growing feelings start to complicate his plan, Jon doesn’t know if his way of life is really as fulfilling any longer. While Claire battles the desire to learn from her mistake in the past when it comes to Mr. Charmant, and not give him the option of breaking her heart again, Claire finds the many masks he wears unappealing, and Jon, in a bid to change her opinion of him, lets the mask slip and offers her the chance to view the man he keeps from the world. Claire still remains distrustful, but will the real Jon, not the playboy or the technology guru, break through her icy walls enough that they both may find something they never quite expected?

Book Three: The Billionaire’s Assistant
Julia has been Andrew Charmant’s shadow for the past five years, doing whatever needs to be done and whatever is asked of her. She’s been his perfect assistant, but she’s hated her job working for a man who at times is little more than a beast. But all her feelings changed when, six months ago, she found herself in bed with her boss and addicted to the passion he brings to the bedroom; if only he could be so passionate during day light hours. Julia can no longer take having a man in the bed and a beast as a boss, and she resolves to put in her resignation. But Andrew Charmant doesn’t want to let her go, and he promises to do whatever it takes to keep her around, even if it means putting down his walls and letting another woman get close to him. He doesn’t see a problem in keeping himself at a distance from people emotionally, especially when years before he had his heart and pride crushed by his vicious ex-wife, Eva. Julia is dedicated to bringing the man out of the beast, and Andrew, for the sake of keeping the best assistant he has ever had, may have to let her. What happens when the assistant is the one making the demands? Can a love match occurs?

    Book Two: Chasing Love

    Chapter One

Jonathan Charmant was not usually a man who sped down the highway at top speeds, fixing his mussed sandy blonde hair, the setting sun catching the few strands of honey blonde and unsettling grey streaks that hid in the mess of his flowing curls. But if the time that flashed on the dash of his red apple corvette was correct, he would have to admit that he was late. Not just any kind of late, either, not the kind that you could brush off and pretend that you were there the whole time and no one would be the wiser: no, his absence would have already been noted and commented on if his older brother Andrew had his way. His delayed appearance would only serve to purse his mother’s lips to a cartoonish line and liven up his brother Andrew’s usually pale complexion. Being on time mattered a lot to his mother and brother, but the rest of his family not so much; it was just another way Andrew was more like their mother in attitude and their father in appearance. Luke, his youngest brother, the one who all this hoopla and driving at law-breaking speeds was for... well, he took after their mother most in appearance, and was more like their father in personality, and here he was the middle child, the one who didn’t seem to take more from one and less from the other. He liked to claim he was the perfect one, an ideal combination, much to his brothers’ chagrin and denial.

The fading rays of the sun glistened off his gold Rolex as he weaved his way through traffic, with one eye on the road, his ears filled with the ticking of the clock as the minutes rolled by, and the hand not currently attached to the steering wheel eagerly trying to make himself as presentable as possible. Seeing the sign for exit 29, he quickly shot across three lanes, lest he miss the exit, uncaring for the blaring of horns or the minivan he was dangerously close to clipping. Stupid, stupid, man. I should have left hours ago! Jon kept going through the past few hours in his head. His buzz was slowly resurfacing, and he could feel the effects of the alcohol he had been ingesting, and the warm feeling that had accompanied a few shots of Jack was doused by the reality of how late he was for Luke’s rehearsal dinner. He was the best man, well, one of them, and though Luke was against him throwing a bachelor party filled with the usual trappings of strippers and bad decisions, he had no real other responsibility as a best man than to show up and not sleep with too many of the bridesmaids, not that that would be a problem seeing as it was only Elle’s one friend from her cleaning days and seeing as she had no more friends, beyond Andrew’s assistant Julia, who were assisting her down the aisle. But he was failing hard right now at the showing up part of his best man duties, even though, as he zoomed through residential neighborhoods with towering gaudy McMansions and overpriced eyesores, Jon felt like he could make a case that it was something business related that had kept him detained. He’d been meeting with the French model that was to be the face of their new smart watch ad campaign, even though it wasn’t usually his division to deal so personally in, as he usually dealt with the internal workings of the technology sector of the Charmant family business, and left the ads and stuff to the public relations department. But Gabriela was something that, well, he’d had to experience her for himself, even if their…meeting... took him away from all this wedding craziness for a few hours. But Jon was convinced that if he just left out the important details, Andrew wouldn’t be to upset, with it being a business meeting and all. Hell, the man hadn’t put down his own blackberry during his own ill-fated wedding years ago, all because he was worried about the state of the market in China.

As the canopy of trees and manicured lawns fell away from the review mirror, the forest was pushed back only slightly as plush open fields and paddocks where horses roamed began to dot the landscape, a bright and clear picture of nature juxtaposed against the foreboding timberland. Jon pushed his thick-framed glasses back up his nose, slowing down his breakneck speed long enough to look at the passing addresses and try to remember if any landscape looked familiar. He had only gone out to Luke and Elle’s new place once before, and he could barely remember the ancient home, let alone the way he’d gotten there. Finally, his eyes glimpsed a familiar cluster of overgrown woodland, with a large French château inspired home bursting forth with light and warmth that pushed out the shadows of the encroaching woods. With the onset of dusk, even far from the house, the orchards and woods seemed to take on a magical quality as the lanterns they’d hung about for the dinner were lit. A sense of relief and dread settled hard in the pit of his stomach as he pulled up the long graveled driveway. The crunch of rocks and tires drowned out the little whisper of music and laughter that floated on the fragrant air. But none of that could take away from the brilliance of what Luke’s home had turned into. The light stone brick that supported the massive bricks seemed to be a glow, every inch of greenery seemed to house a fairy, little flecks of lights and a barrage of blooming flowers cast a scene of something out of Shakespeare’s Midsummer’s Night Dream, a kind of magic and allure changed the humble but crumbling home he had visited before into something that Jon, who was a man who enjoyed sterile cold machinery and whose idea of warmth could only be found between a woman’s thighs or with a few shots of Jim beam neat, was for the first time since he’d been eight, enchanted by. His usually somber expression that fluctuated between hardened business man and boyish flirt seemed to relax into a peaceful state, which left a wide smile on his lips and a silvery glint to his clouded eyes. Even while sitting in the car, devoid of the full experience of the set-up and decoration of the house and party, what he saw gazing through his windshield left him amazed, and lessened the tightening of his stomach.

The feeling was short-lived, with the soft rapping of the valet’s knuckles on his window. Seeing the fresh faced boy gawking at his baby, he looked at how the child’s clothing, though pressed and cleaned, seemed to dangle off his scrawny body. Stepping out of the car, Jon hesitated for a second, the overwhelming fear that had been kept at bay by the adrenaline of the drive, and then
