A Day in the Life / Lindsay Wellington / Rated Pg13ish - Samantha Young

    Thickens

    Introduction

Hi there! My name is Lindsay Wellington, I am 28 and live in Chicago, Illinois.

I was born in New York, and attended the Chapin School in Manhattan. After graduation, I attended my parent’s alma mater Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Economics. I shocked my entire family when I decided to attend Duke University and obtain my Masters of Engineering Degree.

The reason I went into engineering and away from business & finance is because I am absolutely fascinated with mechanics and technology. I want to be a part of a future which makes a difference and discover ways to improve lives. I wanted to create, not necessarily fund or profit from the innovation. I currently work at TJ Inc. (TJI) as an Engineer.

I met my fiancé Chase Huntington eight months ago when my wonderful friend Krissy Matthew’s set us up. It truly has been a wonderful eight months of pure bliss. I swear, he was placed on this earth just for me. He treats me so well, and I literally swoon whenever I hear his voice, or say his name. I am completely in love, and so happy.

My best friend is Samantha Young. She and I met three years ago when we started at TJI on the same day. We instantly clicked and haven’t stopped clicking since! I can’t imagine where my life would be without her. Although she does thing I know, Samantha is secretly dating Alex Rhodes, who’s a former engineer here at TJI. Alex is great, but I think he likes more than she likes him.

Alex has accepted a new position in Portland, and it’s very bittersweet. Alex was our Senior Engineer and definitely led our team with dignity, grace, and humor. I miss him terribly. I especially miss his glow when he was around Samantha.

My current boss of four short days is Jason Erickson. He is clearly smart, and I think he will be a good fit here at TJI. I met his fiancé Juliet yesterday. She also seems great, and I like them both already. I have invited them to attend my party for Chase tomorrow night.

My now former boss is Jim Summers, and he was my VP here at TJI. He’s been really great, until he was fired for sleeping with the town bicycle Marcy Morgen. I swear, every guy in town has had a ride on her.

Marcy Morgen is the type of girl that your mom warns you about, and prays you never become. She’s rude, incompetent, manipulative, and from what I can tell, has no regrets or remorse of what she does. She was just let go yesterday! Thank you for finally making it happen, Sarah.

Sarah Jeans is our VP of HR and has been hanging around our department more and more. I think it’s finally paying off. She’s cleaning house, and taking the trash with her!

A few other really good friends are Jamie & James Turner. They aren’t just friends, they are like my family. I can count on them, and admire them both. They own a real estate firm here in Chicago, and my agents which have recently put my home on the market. I still can’t believe we will be packing up and moving to D.C. a week after we get married.

Abby Johnson & Krissy Matthews have been best friends since college, and have lived together far longer than they probably should. They are both currently single, so what’s the harm I guess? Plus, they live in James & Jamie’s guest house, rent free … so that has got to help them save for a house, right?

I’m heading into work now, come join me!

    Chapter 1: Lindsay's Log – Thurs, Apr 11 (morning)

Being engaged is extremely wonderful. Wedding planning is ridiculously stressful. I am the happiest I have ever felt. I can’t believe I am planning a future I truly didn’t think was possible. My fiancé Chase Huntington is sincerely the most wonderful man I have ever known. He is thoughtful and always does
