Introduction
We all feel lethargic and fatigued from time to time. In fact, these are some of the most common complains by people from around the world. Usually, they have been associated with working too hard for too long, not getting adequate sleep, or simply laziness. It’s only now that we are beginning to realize that these feelings could be because of our hormones, and a few of our bodily organs. And this understanding is changing our thoughts and beliefs of these common complaints.
If you have symptoms like anxiety, tiredness throughout the day and even after getting up from sleep, allergies, fearfulness, depression, arthritis, frequent influenza, insomnia, reduced memory, problems in concentration, and the inability to lose the excess pounds even after several months of trying extensively, then this could be a sign that you are suffering from Adrenal Fatigue.
Adrenal fatigue is associated with the adrenal glands in your body, which reside just above your kidneys. These glands secrete hormones that work in different ways with your body, either giving you good health, or causing problems such as the Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.
Sometimes it can take years for this condition to set in, and thus, it’s often difficult to detect this until it is too late.

Chapter 1 – What Are Adrenals?
ADRENAL IS A GLAND in the human body. The adrenal glands are sometimes also called suprarenal glands
. These are triangular small gland located just above the kidneys. These glands are made of two parts. The outer part is known as the Adrenal Cortex
, and the inner part is called the Adrenal Medulla

Adrenal Cortex
Adrenal Cortex, or the outer part of the adrenal gland, secretes hormones that impact our metabolism, some blood chemicals, and certain body characteristics as well. Corticosteroids and a few other hormones are secreted directly into the blood. Here are some hormones the adrenal cortex produces...
Aldosterone – It is responsible for regulating the potassium and sodium levels in the body. It also maintains blood pressure and blood volume.
Cortisol – This hormone controls the body’s usage of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. It affects our immunity and also suppresses the body’s inflammatory reactions.
Androgen hormones or Androgenic steroids – These hormones get converted to Androgens and Estrogens. However, most of these hormones are produced in larger numbers in the ovaries (Estrogen) and testes (Androgen). Androgen is thus called the male hormone, and Estrogen is called the female hormone.
