    Carl East was born in 1956, in the City of Hull (officially Kingston upon Hull), in Northeast England.       Alexandra 2 (The Familiar)

      Anita sat in the cell wondering why this had happened to her. She’d followed all their rules and never once practiced magic, yet, there she was awaiting the sentence for the murder she’d committed. It all happened the day before when she was given a new job in the Wizards School of Magic. She was told to dust and clean the room where some of the most dangerous spell books were stored. She was also told not to touch or go near the three books that sat on their own pedestals. The only reason given was that they contained forbidden magic.

      She may have been intrigued by that information, but she knew better than to disobey orders or mess around with forbidden magic. She’d just finished sweeping out the room when the accident happened. She tripped and reached out her hands in an attempt to stop her fall but what she fell against was one of the pedestals, she saw the book it held falling to the floor. She innocently got to her feet and picked the book up with the intention of straightening out the pedestal and placing the book back where it belonged. That was her first mistake.

      The book had fallen open to a page near the middle and the letters of the spell she could see seemed to be glowing. For the briefest of moments, she dallied and actually read the spell out in her mind before placing it back onto the pedestal as if nothing had happened. After that, she left the room and headed to the maintenance closet to put some things away. It was when she’d reached it that her problems began.

      Unbeknown to her the spell she’d read out in her mind was beginning to work as intended and suddenly she felt her body starting to heat up. She stumbled and then collapsed onto the floor as the spell fulfilled its purpose. A passing wizard had witnessed her fall and came to her aid.

      Are you okay my dear? he said as he reached down to help her back to her feet.

      She looked up at him with deep red eyes, making him let go and step back in surprise.

      Where am I? she screamed.

      The wizard looked confused by the question, but knew that something bad had happened. He recognized the signs of magic being used and briefly pondered as to what he should do next. That, it turned out, was a mistake. Anita suddenly screamed out again and jumped up to twist the wizard’s head around violently. The breaking of his neck was audible before he slumped down to the ground, stone cold dead.

      The commotion had been heard by several other wizards, and they subdued her and unraveled what had transpired. Anita had inadvertently conjured a Succubus when she had read the spell to herself and that Succubus had inhabited her body.

      As she sat in the cell awaiting the verdict, she could feel the presence of the Succubus within her and was powerless to rid herself of the vile creature. She heard
