About this ebook

From Ilona Andrews, #1 New York Times bestselling author, the thrilling conclusion to her Hidden Legacy series, as Nevada and Rogan grapple with a power beyond even their imagination…

Nevada Baylor can’t decide which is more frustrating—harnessing her truthseeker abilities or dealing with Connor “Mad” Rogan and their evolving relationship. Yes, the billionaire Prime is helping her navigate the complex magical world in which she’s become a crucial player—and sometimes a pawn—but she also has to deal with his ex-fiancée, whose husband has disappeared, and whose damsel-in-distress act is wearing very, very thin.

Rogan faces his own challenges, too, as Nevada’s magical rank has made her a desirable match for other Primes. Controlling his immense powers is child’s play next to controlling his conflicting emotions. And now he and Nevada are confronted by a new threat within her own family. Can they face this together? Or is their world about to go up in smoke?

Ilona Andrews

“Ilona Andrews” is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian, and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.) They have co-authored four New York Times and USA Today bestselling series: the urban fantasy of Kate Daniels, rustic fantasy of the Edge, paranormal romance of Hidden Legacy, and Innkeeper Chronicles. They live in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

Perfect setup for more in the series

I understood that this would be a trilogy but the ending sets it up perfectly for more in the series. I enjoyed this book a lot but couldn't help seeing the similarities in the personalities of Nevada and Conner and Kate and Currin. I didn't mind it but they do seem to have the same personalities. I'm looking forward to the next books in this series. Hopefully it won't take too long.

The body count remains high and there is a new active contributor. It's getting to be much more ensemble actions, but the more is is revealed about talents and the rules houses are said to follow, the less logically consistent the conflicts in the plot are. But the action is fast and the sex scenes total fantasy, so who needs logic.

Nevada's involvement in House politics has had an unforeseen effect: her evil grandmother, Victoria Tremaine, Head of House Tremaine, knows where her family is and has plans to bring them under her power whether they're willing or not. This is bad news for the Baylor family as they have no real protection against their invading relative aside what they can provide for themselves since law enforcement strictly stays out of magical Family matters. Unsure of the best way to protect her family and still figuring out her relationship with Rogan, Nevada's life is further complicated with Rynda Charles, Rogan's gorgeous ex-fiancee, shows up at the Balyor Agency with a case for them to solve. Rynda's husband has gone missing and the Baylor Agency is her last hope since all of Rynda's friends and family have turned her away. Wildfire is the third book in the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. This was one wild ride! It's 400 pages of action, mystery, crazy magical abilities, more layering of the world building, memorable characters and a hefty dose of romance. And I loved every minute of it.These characters are just so much fun. Both main characters, Nevada and Rogan, are very well crafted. By this point we understand their motivations behind most of their actions. The whole ex-fiancee thing can be a sticky subject to attempt and I think it's handled very well. I hate when authors use the jealousy angle by making their characters deliberately do "ignorant" and obviously hurtful actions to cause tension. It feels cheap. It was really nice to see this handled with characters who were aware of their actions and what was going on instead of making Nevada into the "over reactive" female. Rogan's concern for Nevada over the whole Rynda situation is refreshing. Even the side characters are wonderful. Cornelius Harrison is back as is all of Nevada's family and I love each one of them. It was great to see more of Catalina and Arabella's powers. Also very cool to go through the discovery of a latent talent in one of the characters. The world building continues as even more powers are explored. We're given some origins into the powers themselves and a little bit behind how the powers are passed from generation to generation, really emphasizing why it's so important for Primes to be genetically compatible. It's fascinating. Also great is watching the conspiracy between Houses unfold layer by layer. As before, this book plants its feet firmly on the romance side of urban fantasy with a couple of explicit sex scenes. They are very steamy and well written. And I'm not normally a romance fan! That was a satisfying end to Nevada's trilogy. I was excited to read that the author plans to continue the series from Catalina's point of view as the very end of the epilogue left a nice hook. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

My favorite part of this series is the worldbuilding, and the main character. Her family's pretty great, too. The covers are absolutely awful.

This is the third book in the series and I liked this the best. Rogan is at his least obnoxious and Nevada is coming into her own strength. The family interactions are fun and a good balance for the action parts of the the book. I read somewhere that this is the final book in the series and I'm sad about that. I am getting the following novella about the younger sister.

So this is supposed to be the final entry into this -a trilogy? I don't believe it. Yes we did manage to find out who the bad guy (CEASARE? too lazy to get up and see if this is the correct spelling, sorry!) is -but Nevada and Conner didn't. And wouldn't they be surprised to find out? Are we just supposed to sit here and pretend the Texas magical community is safe? We are not supposed to read about Nevada's and Conner's wedding all while they hunt and kill the bad guys???Oh well -the fact is there was a lot crammed into this book and I loved every minute of it. I adore Cornelius and his daughter, the new tiger/dog, finding out what exactly Arabella and Catalina can do. And my I say wow! Leon? Nevada's father-yikes! And, well, her Grandmother (you know, the OTHER one!)There is just too much in this series, and particularly this book that I love that I can't list them all here. This was a wonderfully complex read, sometimes difficult to keep all of the character's straight but well worth the effort. I love how everyone grew and took responsibility for themselves and what they can do. I really love how Conner is somewhat tamed by the love of a good woman (cliched, I know, but perfect for this type of character and what he has gone through). This is a trilogy that I have been reading often and is now going to be shelved on my 'comfort read' shelf.*ARC supplied by publisher.

Wow! The ride that began with the first book in the series ( Burn for Me ) continues here...and then some! Though there is some explanation given in books 2 and 3 of things that happened before that you should know/remember, you're really better off reading the entire series in order. Now that all 3 books have been released, I am planning on reading the series back-to-back on audio, just to get the complete experience. I definitely recommend! ;) There is just so much to like with this series--the world is imaginative, the story is a great blend of mystery and action, and the characters are awesome. The relationships are great--not only Nevada and Ronan, but also Nevada and her whole family, Nevada and Cornelius--I could go on and on. The threads of humor that hold it all together (I love, love, love the giant, especially bred-for-war, pacifist bear Sgt. Teddy!) make this one series I'm going to go back to read again and again. Wildfire has been touted as the final book in the trilogy, but there's definitely room for continuation with that ending. Fingers crossed that there is more to come, because I still have questions (and want to see more of...well, pretty much everyone!) Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This third Hidden Legacy novel has Nevada looking for the missing husband of the ex-fiance of her love Connor Rogan. It also has her trying to find a way to keep her family safe from her father's mother who is the only Prime in her house and who wants to annex Nevada and her sisters. Another plot thread concerns the conspiracy to destabilize Houston in order to set up a new way of governing the Houses. Still another plot thread involves Nevada's relationship with Connor "Mad" Rogan. All of these various plot threads twisted and intertwined in an action-packed story that I couldn't put down. Nevada is a strong, smart woman who knows what she wants out of life. She is fiercely protective of her family and those she loves. Rogan is a wonderfully tortured hero who frightens and overwhelms most people by Nevada can stand up to him. I liked the way they tried to take care of each other and especially that they were sensitive to each others' feelings and needs.I liked learning more about what powers Nevada's younger sisters and cousins have and how they came to get them. I also liked the strong relationships in Nevada's family. I liked the world building in this book. Both the magical powers and political maneuvering were well-developed. The ending leaves room for another book and I would love it if the author's were able to continue writing stories in this world.

I loved this book! I have actually already read this book twice since I was able to get my hands on a copy. I couldn't wait to get started the first time through the book and barely came up for air until I finished the story. I knew that I would need to slow down and read it a second time before being able to write a review. So I read this book for a second time less than three months after my first read through and I liked it just as much the second time. There really aren't many books that I would able to do that with. I had such a good experience reading this book. This is the third book in the Hidden Legacy series which really does need to be read in order. The whole series is amazing so you won't want to miss the earlier books anyway. Nevada and Rogan have been through a lot together by the time this book starts and things have changed drastically for Nevada and her family. Nevada and her family can no longer stay hidden so they must decide how to safely move forward. Their agency has taken on a case for Rogan's ex, Rynda. Rynda's husband is missing and nobody seems to want to look for him. As we have come to expect, Nevada and Rogan will work together through some pretty tense situations in this novel. The action gets pretty intense and is really quite exciting to read. This book is so much more than a romance story but the romance is really well done. Nevada and Rogan belong with each other. I love every time they are on the page with each other. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is a lot of fun. Add a few magical elements into the mix and you have a story you can't quit thinking about. The secondary characters are so well done. I think that every character in this series has something to add to the story. Nevada's family are so much fun and their feelings for each other are really genuine. Rogan's people are loyal and a force on their own. Cornelius and Matilda have almost become an extended part of the Baylor family and I really like the perspective that Cornelius brings to the agency. There is even a pacifist Kodiak bear and a blue tiger that is literally out of this world. I highly recommend this series to everyone. I love the world that the writing pair of Ilona Andrews has crafted in this series and am in awe at the characters that live in that world. I will keep my fingers crossed that there might eventually be a few more novels in this wonderful series.I received an advanced reader edition of this book from Avon Books via Edelweiss.

At one point in Nevada Baylor's life the action started, and it just doesn't let up. This book kicks it up yet another notch as histories are revealed and the chances of the Baylor family lying low are left behind forever.

The relationship tensions continue, and are resolved/dealt with/exploded just as smartly as the rest of the book moves along. It's a wild ride, continuing to be full of excellent, likeable characters, some new enemies and allies, and a continuous reveal of simply bad-ass magical powers.

    Loved it. What happens next?

OMG, Ilona Andrews does such a great job of world building and fleshing out characters. Wildfire is no different. It's the 3rd book in the Hidden Legacy series, and in this book, we find out exactly what hidden legacy means.

Nevada is still trying to keep her family safe while trying to keep secrets and trying to navigate the murky waters of House politics. Mad Rogan is right beside her, focused on her, and doing all he can to keep her safe, no matter what.

I love, love, love the chemistry between Rogan and Nevada. They are both so strong and stubborn, but they love each other so much. They are determined to make it work no matter what.

I love Ilona Andrews and this is no exception. I know that they only contracted for 3 books, but I really hope that there is enough popularity for another book.

Wildfire starts right after the previous book with Rogan’s former fiancée showing up and asking Nevada for help to find her missing Prime husband. No one else will help her since he is known to disappear for short periods of time when stressed. Nevada quickly finds out that he has been kidnapped and as she is working this case she is filing paperwork to become her own house to stay one step ahead of her paternal grandmother who wants her badly for her house.
By the end of the book you find out about her sister’s powers and why her father ran from his mother. The ending of the book written in such a way that there can be more books and you are left with wanting more stories set in this universe.

In a world in which a person's social, financial and personal status is determined by the level of their magical power, Nevada Baylor is coming to terms with the fact that she is a force to be reckoned with and that the man she loves, Connor Rogan, might not be the most suitable match. To add insult to injury, Nevada is hired by Conner's former fiancée to investigate the disappearance of her husband. A case that may have far reaching consequences for Houston's magical Houses.

This series is one of the best the Urban Fantasy genre has to offer. The world building, plotting, characterization and romance are spellbinding.

Nevada and Rogan's dynamic is amazing. The intensity of their chemistry is felt not only during their intimate scenes together, but in virtually every shared encounter and conversation. Thankfully, the minor conflict involving his ex never really gains momentum and is resolved with very little angst.

The secondary characters, especially Nevada's family, are fleshed out well and add an extra layer of humor and enjoyment to the storyline. It is particularly interesting to learn of the Baylor sisters' genetic origins as well as their individual powers.

While Nevada and Rogan's relationship and the majority of events in the trilogy come to a more than satisfactory conclusion, several loose ends remain. Consequently, one can only hope that the Ilona Andrews duo has a fourth book in the works.

In sum, the Hidden Legacy books are exceedingly well written and entertaining. Highly recommended for both fans of Andrews' work and newbies to the genre as well.

Short Summary: Life is never quiet for Nevada Baylor who realizes she’s in love with Mad Rogan, has to contend with being hired for a job by his beautiful ex, but she’s also dealing with her evil grandmother trying to kidnap her solely because of the power she possessed.Thoughts: The intricate world-building, passionate romance, and overall excitement of this series continue in this installment that just might not be the last in the trilogy as first presumed.Verdict: This is the 19th Ilona Andrews story so clearly I’m a bit of a fangirl; however, it never ceases to amaze me the originality of their stories and how I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them.

I’m sure y’all are all aware by now that Ilona Andrews is a fast and furious favorite of mine. I’ve been devouring her books like candy this month. It feels so bittersweet to be reviewing WILDFIRE, the stunning conclusion to Andrew’s Hidden Legacy trilogy, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Sigh.My feelings are a tangled mess. It was brilliant, full of surprises… another masterpiece by the Queen of Urban Fantasy. And now… it’s over? Forever? At first, things appear to be going well for Nevada and Connor. She’s finally recognizing her magical capabilities, the Baylor family business is continuing to grow, and our delightful power couple is closer to happily ever after than ever before… That is, until Connor’s old flame shows up. And as per usual for the Baylors, when it rains, it pours.Rynda Sherwood’s husband is missing and she needs Nevada’s help. She’s also Connor’s ex-fiance and has decided she can’t survive without him. *rolls eyes* And if the situation wasn’t ridiculous enough, our kick ass couple with the shady Prime organization out to destabilize the Houston power base.Yet again.Oh, and Victoria Tremaine, the Baylor’s scary unwanted grandmother just will not take no for an answer. So yeah. Unsurprisingly, there’s a lot going on in this novel. Andrews has always flourished with complex plot lines and a large cast of loveable characters. WILDFIRE delivers kick ass crime fighting, humor in the darkest of moments, and enough sexual tension to feast your eyes on…AND FINALLY THE HIDDEN LEGACY IS REVEALED. Boy was it a shocker! While I am overjoyed with WILDFIRE, I’m having a hard time parting ways. Andrews has me puzzled. Is the Hidden Legacy series over? Does it end here? Will there be more Baylor family adventures? These cliffhanger epilogues (oxymoron much?) are becoming a signature of Andrews will be the death of me. All I can say is WILDFIRE has left me hankering for a fourth Hidden Legacy novel and I have no idea if our UF Queen plans to offer us more.If you haven’t started this series or read Ilona Andrews, seriously, what are you waiting for? Then you can join me in pleading for more from the Hidden Legacy!

This is the 3rd book in the Hidden Legacy series and was was my favorite book of this series yet. I enjoy the characters and thought that the storyline made some good progress. Progress is finally being made towards Nevada's family having their own house. I also like that Rogan and Nevada have developed a better balance with each other. Rogan’s ex is in the story and, although this does cause some tension between Rogan and Nevada, it was well done and never comes off as annoying or childish. There are a lot of interesting politics going on in here with more talk of a big conspiracy that will hopefully develop more in future books. There are also a lot of excellent action scenes that are well written. I think my only disappointment was that the trials Nevada and family had to undergo to become a House ended up being very rushed, trivial, and kind of squeezed in right at the end. I was hoping this was going to be a bigger part of the story. I continue to enjoy the characters and am finally starting to enjoy the world as well (if took me awhile to warm up to this world...I just don't think it's quite as interesting as worlds in other Andrews' series). Overall this was the best book in this series yet. I am really loving some of the plot developments that are happening and continue to enjoy the characters. I am also slowly warming up to this world. I would definitely recommend to fans of action-packed urban fantasy.

The Hidden Legacy series from Authors Ilona Andrews is set in a world very much like our own except in this world there is an Aristocracy governed by House families. Hundreds of years ago a serum had been invented that brought forth latent magic that existed in certain humans but the serum was eventually destroyed. After the magic was awakened though it became part of the genetic code for those families and eventually highly magical families became “Houses” and the ones with the greatest magical ability became known as Primes. Each House is divided by their magical abilities and their marriages are most determined by their genetic compatibility to make the next House Prime.Do you like flashy magic? I know I do and in this series we get an abundance of magical battle scenes that are vivid and action packed. In addition to the battles there are scenes where Rogan is overcome with frustration or annoyance and uses his magic to destroy or crumple objects. So much fun to read! In addition to Rogan’s skills and shenanigans, Nevada has truly come into her powers and has begun to accept the truth of how deep her powers go. As if that was not awesome enough in Wildfire the Baylor’s family secrets come tumbling out and all the magical skills of this talent family are explored and defined. Wow! I loved, loved, loved it. Amazing! In Wildfire Rogan and Nevada are still on the trail of the elusive mastermind behind all the murders and cover-ups that have been taking place recently. After surviving a near death experience both Rogan and Nevada steal away for a few days of alone time as they have finally accepted that they are good together. While away all hell breaks loose as Rogan’s childhood friend and ex-fiance’s husband has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. In addition to that it appears that Nevada’s paternal grandmother has finally discovered the identity of Nevada and her family and is hot on their trail to force the Baylor family to accept their place in House Tremaine.Rogan’s ex-fiance, Rynda, had come to Nevada’s PI firm as a last resort because her mother’s death has made her a social pariah and no one else will take on the case. She is desperate to have her husband found but it also seems that in case he is not found she thinks Rogan will do nicely. Nevada takes on the case because she was involved with the death of the ex’s mother and because she can’t help feeling bad for the Rynda and her kids. While on the hunt for clues as to why Rynda’s husband was kidnapped, Rogan and Nevada come across clues that point to a possibility that the abduction is part of the conspiracy that they have been trying to unravel. Although it appears that there are several Houses involved in this conspiracy there is one mastermind solely responsible for the planning. The goal of this mastermind, known as Ceaser, is to cause a foundational shaking of the Aristocracy and to keep the strongest families in charge. As Rogan and Nevada get closer to discovering the elusive mastermind their lives and the loves of those they care about become fraught with danger.I love the relationship building that has taken place between Rogan and Nevada but I was not quite sure about how I was going to feel about this book. The reason being that the synopsis gave it a love triangle feel and I detest love triangles. Luckily this story was nothing like I imagined. Not for lack of trying on one character’s part though. I found the action to be intense, the romance to be swoony and full of heat. The romance between Nevada and Rogan is addictive and you just want it all for them. In addition to the romance is the fast-paced storyline with twists and turns as well as intense magical exhibitions. This will not be a book you want to put down. I highly recommend this book, series, and the entire Ilona Andrews literary collection. This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Edelweiss+. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

A 2017 novel, book 3 in the Hidden Legacy series.A private kidnapping investigation leads to wizard warfare.B (Good). The series keeps getting better, building on the fantasy stuff and all but sidelining the forced conflict of Bad Romance Tropes. The series is too military-obsessed for me to ever love it, but it's won me over enough that I'm looking forward to more.(Feb. 2023)
