About this ebook

This book is the last in the series and covers years 1994 to 1996 and 2002.

I was 20, 21 and 22 and my life was a little more...meh...and so much happened I guess I didn’t have enough time to write, but I certainly had the ideas. I was legally an adult, technically an adult, but mentally still a teenager. With everything going on in my life I wrote less and less. Clearly the endeavour was waning. Or I just needed a holiday. I did start line dancing and that grew into a full blown love for three years. It was music, after all...so clearly my love of music was now leaning toward the dancing side of things.

In 2002 I wrote 1 song. That’s all I wrote. And I’m surprised I wrote that because I hadn’t written in six years. I was 28, still living at home as I had taken on the chore of being a care-giver for my mother and I had moved into other things. Line dancing had stopped but my love of music hadn’t and never will.

That was the last song I wrote and all of them were my practice for storytelling in four verses, a chorus, and a bridge for much bigger and better things. And now I’ve honoured them with these publications.

The book also contains some witty one liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on.

They are not perfect, nor meant to be, they’re just the musings of a young woman with crushes and dreams.

Enjoy!

Poems Of A Musical Flavour - Tiara King

    INTRODUCTION

This book is the last of the culminations of my love of music.

I’ve written a line or two about the artist or song that inspired me with the lyrics, and why, on many of the songs, most of which are pop songs unless otherwise stated, and let’s hope I won’t get sued for using someone as inspiration (so many lawsuits going on these days). But jokes aside, I was young and a teenager and these songs are what I came up with. And now I’m publishing them just for the fun of it, and to have more books under my name on my author page.

Whether or not you enjoy them is up to you, but remember, if you plagiarise me, you’re being sued...and no, I’m not joking…

Thank you to all the muses, guides, helpers, inspirational musicians and singers that gave me the lines, the titles, the ideas for these songs. I honour you and dedicate these books to all of you.

    1994

I was 20 years old and only wrote 75 songs in this year. I know my life was a little more…meh…but the fact I only wrote 75 after writing 200 must have been because so much happened. We moved houses in October, from one end of Adelaide to another, and got ready for a holiday early the next year, so I guess I didn’t have enough time to write, but I certainly had ideas…

    BURNING HEART  slow rock

Written about a certain member of Indecent Obsession. God, was I obsessed with that group!

    V1

    So you married her,

    And yet never told me,

Though you didn’t know me at the time,

    I still felt betrayed.

    V2

    I couldn’t sleep,

    Cried through the night,

    I couldn’t eat,

My life was no longer right.

    CHORUS

You broke your vows to me,

    Though they didn’t exist,

    You didn’t know me,

    It was her you kissed,

    But my Burning Heart…still lives.

    V3

You looked good all dressed up,

But I won’t mention my thoughts of her,

Personally I think you’re still too young,

    You broke my heart…

    …I cried it apart,

Why did you have to go and do it now?

    CHORUS

Yes, my Burning Heart still exists…

    BRIDGE

When I first saw the picture,

    It was in the magazine,

    Why didn’t you tell anyone?

Why didn’t we know the scene?

I wish I hadn’t found out the way I did,

    It was too painful,

    I didn’t feel too good,

    Cried all I could,

Tell me why you didn’t let me know.

TELL ME I’M DREAMING  slow rock

Inspired by Dannii Minogue’s Wish You’d Stop Wishing. And written about the same I.O. member as previous…no names but…

    Tell Me I’m Dreaming…

    V1

All my dreams are shattered now,

I thought I had come so far but how,

Am I supposed to get through this?

Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw,

The pictures I’d never seen before,

How will I get through the night?

    V2

    Tell me now…tell me how…

    I can make it through.

    CHORUS

    Tell Me I’m Dreaming,

And if the dream will last,

    Or if it will shatter,

    And never leave the past,

    If I am dreaming,

    Let the dream go on,

So I won’t be broken hearted,

    When you are gone…

    V3

Why couldn’t you tell me to my face?

Did you ever think it out of place,

That I could care this much,

Couldn’t believe my heart when I read the news,

About the marriage of her and you,

    Crying’s not enough.

    Repeat V2

    Tell me now…tell me how…

    I can make it through…

    CHORUS

    BRIDGE

I’ve never dreamed so much before,

Never been so hurt in my life,

I’d like to think this is a dream,

And that if you pinch me I’ll wake up,

    But that’s not possible…

    CHORUS

V4 - final verse to end song

I wonder what you do with her…

    How you make love…

    If it’s enough…

    Do you satisfy…?

    Does she satisfy you…?

    What does your future hold…?

    PUMP  dance

    CHORUS1

All you got to do is,

    Pump,

    Move your body,

    Pump,

    To the rhythm,

    Pump,

    Set yourself free,

    Pump,

    Be what you can be.

    V1

You want to dance to the rhythm of the music,

Let yourself go wild show you can use it.

    V2

If it’s what you want, then go for it,

Get your body, and set it for…

    BREAK

This is the first time and the last time…

    CHORUS2

All you got to do is…

    Pump,

    Let yourself go…

    Pump,

    Into the groove…

    Pump,

    Your body…

    Pump,

    Get sexual…

    V3

Take the music, turn it up loud,

Let it inside, to get crazy and wild.

    V4

You say you know it’s a waste of time,

    But it’s not coz I know…

    REPEAT BREAK

This is the first time and the last time…

    BOTH CHORUSES

    BRIDGE

Just let go to enjoy it all, for if you do it right,

You can let it shine, for all to see,

Let it shine and you’ll be free.

    MORE THAN FRIENDS

    CHORUS

Baby let’s be More Than Friends,

Our friendship’s gone on so long,

    Let’s be more…

I want to show you I love you,

    Let’s be More Than Friends,

A relationship could be so good,

    Let’s go for more…

I want to show you that I want you.

    V1

We’ve been friends for so long now, I

Am sure that we could be more how, do,

You feel about this coz baby I want to show you,

How much I love you and baby I want you to show me,

That you feel the same way too.

    CHORUS

    V2

You can always make me laugh,

When I want to cry, I,

Saw so much in you I knew why I felt,

The way I did about this,

So baby can you show me,

    If you feel this way,

And baby can you love me,

The way that I love you, so what do you say?

    CHORUS

    BRIDGE

    When we’re together,

You make me feel like I’ve never felt before,

And now I want more from you…

    LOVE  dance

    V1

    Love…is something we all want,

Love…is one thing we all need,

    I…need my love from you,

    Baby…give your love to me.

    V2

Love…is what I want from you,

    Love…means so much to me,

It’s what I need to feel,

It’s what I want to see from you…

    CHORUS

    Love…is what I want,

    Love…is what I need baby,

    Only you can help me,

Help me get through the situation,

Your love is what I crave for,

To fill me completely forever baby,

Love…is what I want from you.

    V3

You…are the man I need (to please me),

You…can satisfy me (like no one can),

I…want you in my arms (right now),

Baby…fill me totally with your Love.

    V4

    Love…can be a beautiful thing,

Love…from you makes my heart sing,

It’s you I want to feel,

    It’s you
