About this ebook

Released in June 2016, to say Hillbilly Elegy is a hugely successful book would be an understatement! At the time our book summary was created it has been on the Best Sellers List for nearly a full year.

It is the author’s own true personal story about people many feel are forgotten about, or not talked about nearly enough in America. And that is the white working class Americans. Particularly in certain regions of the country. The author, J.D. Vance, story comes from what is considered the Appalachian region.

This is intended to be a condensed summary of this very popular book. That book is over 260 pages. So it may not be considered as a quick read to many people. But here you will find the key summary points from each chapter condensed into a clear, and simple, short book.

Our book summary can be used as a companion to the original book. Or as a quick reference guide. It has all the key information.

The grammar was so frustratingly bad, I lost my interest in the book. I stopped reading after the tenth page.

The writing in this summary is appalling. Poor grammar, nonsensical sentence structure and incomplete thoughts are rampant. It reminds me of a poorly written 7th grade book report. This was too frustrating and irritating to read. I wasn't able to force myself beyond the intro and first chapter summaries.
