      J. entered the busy beachfront eatery and waited for the hostess. She was secretly pleased the male patrons seemed to approve of her wardrobe choice for the evening. For a change, she wanted to be a little bit daring, so she rocked a white blazer with a white lacy camisole beneath it. Her hip hugging jeans were capris and showed off her very shapely calves. But her favorite accessories were her new red-bottomed patent leather pumps. A Valentine’s gift to herself. She felt super sexy.

      A pretty middle aged woman grabbed a menu. Good evening. Are you ready to be seated or are you waiting for someone?

      I’m ready to be seated, and it’s a party of one tonight.

      Sure, honey. Follow me.

      J. sat down and began to browse the menu. Her server, a cute young girl, greeted her and asked if she knew what she wanted. Everything looks so good. I think I’ll have the grilled shrimp skewers and the lobster linguine.

      What would you like to drink, ma’am?

      A glass of white wine. Whichever one you recommend is fine.

      Great. I’ll be right back with your drink order.

      I’m going to the ladies room to freshen up a bit.

      The girl nodded with a smile and gestured toward the restrooms in the back. Once she entered, J. dug in her purse and sprayed a little J’adore in her cleavage. She gazed at herself in the mirror for a moment. Her chestnut brown hair was natural, full, and healthy. She was not a big make up fan, but J. had applied just a little red matte lipstick and accentuated the shape her deep brown eyes with liner. She was starving so she washed her hands and made her way back to her table.

      J. thought she was at the wrong table when she saw a very handsome man seated there. Excuse me, but this table is taken.

      I know. I saw you when you entered the restaurant. I thought you looked familiar so I had to come over and see if I was right. My name is D. He extended his hand.

      J. looked down at it, hesitant to make contact with this stranger. Not wanting to appear rude or to cause a scene, she finally shook his hand and sat down. And where do you think you know me from?

      I’m trying to figure it out. It would be very difficult forgetting a beautiful woman like you, but lately I’ve been so busy I think I may be slipping. D.’s smile was alluring and beamed with confidence.

      And what is it that keeps you so busy if you don’t mind me asking.

      I am a Naval officer. Keeping this country safe is a full time gig.

      Oh, a man in uniform. You must make quite the impression when you’re in full regalia. J. teased. I’m joking. Thank you for your service.

      It’s my honor to serve. What are you having? Have you eaten here before?

      No, I’ve never dined here before. As a matter of fact, this is my first time visiting Myrtle Beach. I just searched for a place nearby with good reviews.

      D. nodded. Not my first time here, but it’s been a long time. Glad I made this particular trip. What’s your name, beautiful lady? Maybe that’ll help me.

      I go by J.

      Short and sweet. But you definitely strike me as a woman who is more than meets the eye.
