Lord is My Sheep: Gospel of Human
()
About this ebook
“Religion has no work in justifying the man-made imaginations, hallucinations and delusions of the world. Real religion has to do with reality - empirical one - philosophical one - humane one.”
The prominent neuroscientist Abhijit Naskar has become an icon of harmony and egalitarianism with his conscientious works of science and philosophy. In this book, he tears apart the atrocities of the predominant social perception of religion and delivers a cleaner, more rational and more humane form of genuine religion for the civilized humanity. He has previously garnered wide public interest in the neuropsychology of various religions through his celebrated book series entitled "Neurotheology Series". His recent "Humanism Series" also contains a treatise on religious fundamentalism, entitled "Illusion of Religion", where he has vividly illustrated the neurological origin and global harms of religious fundamentalism.
Abhijit Naskar is not just a scientist - he is the humanitarian scientist of twenty-first century, whose works have been at the forefront of global unification, extending the frontiers of harmony. This book is an attempt of this humanitarian scientist to reveal to the world what true religion looks like - what true religion feels like - what true religion thinks like - what true religion behaves like.

I AM LORD GOD,
SO ARE YOU
Have you ever walked bare foot on dry grassland? And I am not talking about soft soothing soil that comforts your feet. I am talking about rough bumpy land covered with hot grass, where every footstep of yours feels like you are stepping on a thousand red-hot nails. Sounds aching, doesn’t it? But what if you are a monk!
Have you ever walked bare foot on dry grassland? And I am not talking about soft soothing soil that comforts your feet. I am talking about rough bumpy land covered with hot grass with occasional tiny rocks, where every footstep of yours feels like you are stepping on a thousand red-hot nails. Sounds aching, doesn’t it? But what if you are a monk!
So, there I was, walking bare foot on dry, rough, bumpy grass lands somewhere in the remote villages of Bengal. I didn't feel agony under my feet. Because I was walking the walk of liberation. Liberation from the limitless miseries constructed for me by my delusional society for going against its preordained norms.
There I was - a young monk who had just stepped into his twenties, roaming around the villages of Bengal in one long piece of clothing covering my whole body, seeking the purpose of life. Then the purpose arose – not from anywhere external – but from the deepest fathoms of the mesmerizing mesh of neurons inside my head. Everything became clearer than ever, as the universe slowly took hold of my psyche, and gobbled my existence.
But here a rational mind may wonder, what do I mean, when I say - the universe took hold of my psyche
! Did some sort of divine force of the universe grabbed on to my psyche like a parasite gets hold of its host? It's the question that any human being with a functional conscience would ask. Because nobody is above the judgement of conscience, and that includes me.
So, listen closely my dear rational brave heart - I do not want you to believe anything I say, unless it can pass the test of judgement – and by judgement, I do not mean the judgement of your dearly beloved scripture – I mean judgement of your own conscience. And if your conscience finds follies in my ideas, then nobody on this planet would be more gratified than myself. There is an inexplicable sense of relief in being proven wrong, which perhaps can only be realized by either a scientist or a philosopher. Mind you, my identity is of no greater value than the dust under your feet. If there is anything valuable that I can offer, it is my ideas.
Now let's get back to my meeting with universe or God, or whatever you call it. In my subjective mental realm, I was irrefutably immersed in the universe. It was the ultimate unification of being that any human mind could ever experience in his or her mortal existence. And mortal existence
