      Chapter One: Birthed from The Shadows

      Lights – nothing but a never ending sea of darkness.

      Sound – nothing but the pounding of my heart threatening to deafen me.

      Nothing, nothing but the feeling of the cold air causing goosebumps to raise on the surface of my skin.

      Hello? Is there anybody there? I called out, the only answer was my own voice as it echoed off of unseen surfaces.

      Slowly I began to stretch out my right hand in front of me in an attempt to make contact with anything nearby, I

      Pushing myself to my feet I slowly started to walk forward, holding my uninjured arm out in front of me in an attempt to find something else in the darkness.

      If you keep going that way you’re going to fall. A female voice, the same voice I had heard during my capture rang out through the darkness, but unlike mine it didn’t echo.

      Hello? Where are you? I asked, spinning swiftly on my heels, listening, waiting for the voice to speak again so that I could find this mystery woman that had saved me. It was at that moment a thought crept into my mind, why had she saved me? Had I escaped from one form of imprisonment only to be kept by another? Shaking my head form side to side rapidly in an attempt to remove the thoughts from my mind, at least for the time being.

      I kept on walking, lost in my sea of thoughts when suddenly the ground beneath me gave way, the familiar feeling of weightlessness began to sweep over my body as once again I became gravities play thing. A loud snap echoed through the darkness and my fall was abruptly stopped, followed by a searing pain that ignited a fire that burned through my nerves and shot down my left arm as an intense pressure gripped at me through the darkness, as I was suspended in the air.

      I warned you, and yet here you are once again hanging out in the air like a hunters trophy. Are you unable to follow the simplest of instructions!? Her voice rang out from the dark once again, louder and clearer than before. However the tone of her voice had changed, it was no longer soothing, but had a mocking
