Introduction
What do you see when you enter a city? You see houses and office buildings, of course, and also vehicles—cars, vans, trucks, firetrucks, motorcycles. You see roads and bridges that enable people to move about. No doubt your city contains parks filled with trees and playgrounds. On the outskirts of town, you may find an airport where planes and helicopters land and take off, and maybe a train station. And if the city is near a body of water, you're likely to find boats.
Now, imagine that you can make all of these things with your own hands. But you don't need bricks, wood, metal, concrete or glass. All you need are a few sheets of paper!
This kit contains detailed diagrams, instructions and photos to help you construct your own origami city. And along with the instruction booklet are specially designed papers and stickers to enhance each model.
As an added bonus, you'll find a city map filled with roads for your vehicles, an airport for your plane and helicopter, tracks for your train, a bay for your boat, and empty spaces for trees, bridges, houses and office towers. The city map is recreated on the back side without colors, so that you can use your creativity to make the building blocks of the city any color you like.
As you move through the book, models progress from beginner level through intermediate. To help you follow the diagrams, refer to the different origami symbols described on the next page.
