One in a Million Dance - T. E Williams
Have you thought about my suggestion that we need to talk?
I don’t need to think about it, Dan. My answer remains the same. We have nothing personal to talk about.
Since we will be working together, I insist we talk about our past so that we can move on.
When she made no further comment but turned to leave he said, I think you owe me an explanation, don’t you, Lia?
She turned around to him, No, Dan. I owe you nothing. You may be the CEO and founder of a multimillion dollar company but you are not my boss. I am your realtor but it is in the agreement that you could chose to discontinue my services at any time.
Is this some attempt to back out already like you did years ago?
I reserve the right to choose my clients.
As long as you know that this client is also your husband who reserves the privilege of claiming his husbandly rights.

Dedicated to Mama who gave selflessly
Chapter One
Dan stood at the far end of the ballroom sipping wine and observing guests at the party chatter and dance. Why did he allow Peter to persuade him to attend this party? He wondered.
Peter’s fiancée, Nina, had gone to visit her sister who was expecting a baby. So Peter had invited Dan to his company's year-end party.
Thank you, but I’ll pass. Company parties are excluded from my list of fun places to go,
he’d told Peter.
When Peter noticed Dan was determined to reject the invitation, he said Now that you are approaching thirty, don’t you want to focus on finding a wife? Who knows, she could be at the party.
Peter provided the most tangible reason he could think of to persuade Dan. They had been best friends from childhood and Peter had a knack for convincing him.
"Ah yes, the inheritance," Dan thought.
He had to be married in the next few months or he'd forfeit his inheritance. Peter never ceased to utilize that to his advantage whenever he could. Dan was running out of time to secure his inheritance so he decided attending the party was not a bad idea after all.
After being at the party for about an hour, he was beginning to think it was probably not a wise decision when the show stopper
made her grand entrance. She was wearing a turquoise green evening gown.
He watched her entrance with fascination, appreciating the fullness of her breasts highlighted by the style of the dress. His eyes roamed over her lingering on her feminine curves.
"Who was she?" he wondered. One look at her gliding across the ballroom and he knew he had to meet her. Shouldn’t I be considering a business arrangement? He chided himself.
Was it even possible to have such an arrangement with this captivating beauty?
She wore a strapless turquoise green beaded gown which hugged her bodice revealing her feminine curves and flowed freely at her feet. The highlight of the dress was a split which went just above her knee enough to show off the exquisite leg beneath the gown. A matching necklace and earrings accessorized her model-like appearance and glittered on her flawless skin.
Her skin sparkled as the light caressed it. He couldn’t resist but wondered how good it would feel to have his hands all over her.
He inhaled deeply when he imagined the sweetness of her lips emphasized by her crimson colored lipstick. He had no doubt those lips were softer and more tasty than the juiciest fruit he’d ever had.
Dan sought out Peter, who was talking with two of his colleagues.
Do you know her?
he asked, pulling Peter aside and gesturing to her.
That is Amelia Michaels, a workmate.
Would you by any chance know if she is here with another man?
No, I don’t but you might want to find out soon if you’re interested. I’d have to say yours are not the only pair of eyes on her.
Dan's eyes scanned the room and he realized Peter was right. There wasn’t a man in the room who was not appreciating her enchanting beauty.
The feeling of possessive jealousy he experienced at that moment was foreign to him. Why did he feel this way about someone he had not seen before? She had to be the one he had been waiting for all night to arrive at the party. Wasn't she? He strode towards her intent on getting the message across that she was the woman he’d been waiting on.
Lia felt his presence as he approached and turned to see an extraordinarily attractive man walking towards her.
The mesmerizing dark eyes, holding her gaze as he drew near, eluded his intent. His perfectly carved face was enigmatic causing her to wonder if he'd just materialized from an invisible sculpture in the room. Why did it seem like his movements mimicked that of a wolf in pursuit of its target? Her heart skipped a beat in anticipation of being his target.
As the distance between them decreased sparks of electrical charge vibrated around them.
Daniel Wright,
he said extending his hand when he reached her.
Lia Michaels,
she responded taking his outstretched hand.
He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. His piercing eyes searched and held hers captive as he whispered, Lia.
He saw her blush as he let go of her hand. Her eyes perused the ballroom and saw that the guests were now more interested in them then in partying.
Gabriel seemed to have appeared at that particular time. You look dazzling, Lia. I see you could make it to the ball.
Gabriel, her now ex-boyfriend, worked at the company also. He had suggested to her couple of days earlier that they needed some time off to meet other people—essentially dumping her.
You didn’t think I would not show up here, did you?
she retorted.
Not really,
he replied.
I’m sure it would have boosted your ego—sorry to disappoint you.
He merely smiled and arrogantly asked her, Would you care for a dance?
No, I’m not interested,
she said. Turning away from him, she stepped closer to Dan smiling provocatively.
Dan made no comment as he listened to the exchange. But he understood the message she tried to convey by her final gesture. That was when he decided to set her straight.
So this was her ex-boyfriend? Was she trying to make her ex jealous at his expense? I will assist her in doing so but on my own terms, he thought.
He linked his hand with hers and walked to the terrace overlooking a bay and leading into a garden. There was no one on the terrace and
