    Author’s Note

    This book takes place after Nothing Even Matters (D’Amato Brothers 8) and One More Chance (D’Amato Brothers 10). Things that haven’t been explained, will be in future, upcoming books.

    The chapters also take place in different time periods.

    Madre’s

    She’d watched the reality show since its inception. She started a fan club online about the family, detailing everything about each member. Her Facebook group was the most active with a mind-blistering 30,000 members.

    And now she’s finally in front of her dream – Madre’s.

    Chanel Gaskins looked up at the storied brick building that was once a fire station and sighed. For the last couple of years, she declared herself as an expert on the D’Amato family clan and could cite just about every fact of the family to those interested (and those couldn’t care less).

    Some might call her a stan or a super-obsessed fan, but Chanel begged to differ. She just admired all of them and for different reasons.

    She admired Nicola for her strength of raising five sons with only a high-school diploma to her credit. She laughed at Tony’s self-depreciating humor and boasted about the awesome fades he did.

    She loved how business-savvy Joey was and was impressed he had a limit on what deals the family would take. They said no to more offers than yes – offers any money- and fame-hungry family would jump at.

    She studied up on the rare and ultra-private brothers, Kieran and Nicholas, and was happy they chose to live their lives away from the limelight. She had people in her group who were associated with both brothers and their stories were always heartwarming and funny.

    There was one D’Amato brother Chanel wanted to see. She’d specifically made a visit to New York just for him and she only hoped he was just as personable and charming in the flesh like he was on TV:

    Eli.

    Chanel’s heart swooned just thinking about him. With his deep voice, two full sleeves, light brown eyes, and a penchant of wearing white tank tops – she even started wearing those because Eli favored them – Chanel was more than a fan.

    She might have been in love with Eli.

    Of course, while she entertained a schoolgirl crush on him, she also paid very close attention to his dating life. It was rumored he might be reconciling with his ex-wife, but no one would confirm the details. She even followed Faith’s IG account to get more info but she was also playing coy.

    Crush aside, Eli was everything to Chanel. Every Sunday night, she tuned in to see what crazy floral décor he was going to come up with. Almost everything he did, she loved. A few things she thought were over the top, but she also knew that was the bride’s request, not Eli’s.

    Still, even if she couldn’t get a homemade bouquet, she just wanted to see the man who made her into a lifelong fan. Even if she couldn’t take a picture with him, she would be okay with that. As long as she knew she was in the same building as him, she was fine with that.

    She just hoped her breath didn’t smell funky. She popped in another breath mint just for safekeeping.

    ~~~~~
    And I think that’s her… Joey pointed down from his shared office.
    Eli joined his brother and watched a younger biracial woman enter the building. She was a full-figured woman with straightened blonde hair, cherry red lipstick, and was dressed as if she was about to enter a snowstorm.
    She had an innocent about her that Eli found refreshing. She was already in her mid-twenties but she seemed optimistic about the world, despite what was going on. She was a real-life ray of sunshine. Yep, that’s Chanel, Eli nodded, she’s going to flip her damn lid.
    She has no idea, huh? Joey asked and Eli shook his head. I swear, each time I come up with an idea, you somehow top it.
    Joey made a decoy Facebook account and joined the notorious Madre’s Facebook group. While he eye-rolled and held back his Twitter fingers in responding to some of the unsavory comments, he paid closer attention to one Chanel Gaskins.
    She was the self-proclaimed cheerleader of the entire D’Amato family and often had debates and fights with other people. He was very impressed with her passion and told Eli about her, who was equally excited.
    So, when Chanel mentioned she was going to go to New York and see Madre’s in person, hoping to score a photo with Eli, Joey wanted to ensure she’ll have it. He told Eli about his plan and Eli did him one even better – they were going to put Chanel on the show and treat her to dinner.
    But first, they had to do a bit of trickery. Joey just hoped the plan didn’t backfire.
    Okay, so Maria greeted her and Ricci is bringing out the refreshments, Joey
