- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sweet Mother's day book for kids with 2 dads, or a grandma or any other kind of combination. I liked it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Stella’s class is having a Mother’s Day event, but Stella doesn’t have a mother, she has two fathers. What should see do? This questions causes a week of worry until a friend suggests to bring all her family, and that is what she does. This book works, because it is a concern for many children missing “traditional” family members. This book gives a great idea of what a child stuck in this situation could do.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/52.5★ (rounded up, because books like this are important)
It was a bit underwhelming, still enjoyable and cute, though. The execution just felt a bit off for me. I found it a bit sad, that it ends with a kid worrying what to do on Father's Day, because he has two moms. It would have been such an amazing opportunity for the boy to learn from Stella's experience and what she did on Mother's Day, which would also benefit the children reading this book, who have two moms.
I was also let down by the fact, that this book got stereotypical of a mother's role, although I get why children might phrase a question this way, it just seemed out of character coming from a boy with two moms.
It didn't feel very dynamic, as a whole. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A true illustration of "it takes a village to raise a child".
