About this ebook
A brave, exciting and adult collection that entertains with wit, shocks with frankness, and engages both intellect and emotion. Richly varied, it ranges from extended stories to intense pieces of flash fiction.
Stories may be set in realistic settings – but develop magical narrative twists that make us see all afresh. Others begin in fantasy – returnees from the dead, a man who finds discarded hymens – but are so skilfully realist we can only believe in their actuality.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5terrific collection. Two of my all time favorite collection are Roupenian's You know you want this and Machado's Her body and other stories and this has immediately become the third. There are so many issues women face cleverly depicted in this book, in so many nuances and genre (erotic, dystopian, sci-fi, absurd). love it
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5No doubt the author has an extremely interesting writing style, but because my lack of familiarity with Caribbean and British culture several of the stories I didn’t understand. Several of the stories were so disturbing to me because the message was not clear to me but is implied. This was a pick for my Go On Girl! Book Club so it was a required read and I completed the book and reread each story but don’t think I can recommend my review as a guide for others. Be prepared to be a little shocked, taken aback and amused at times.
