About this ebook

How many times have you intended AND set out to do what you believe is right only to face challenges every step of the way?

Some obstacles you breeze through.

Some put you under more pressure than you are comfortable with.

And some TOTALLY blindside you and derail your focus.

It doesn’t make you a bad person to miss the mark. And it certainly doesn’t make you a hypocrite.

It makes you human.

In these pages, Author T.L. Jackson, has opened up about her fight to hold on to her faith and stay the course on her personal journey.

This is not another book telling you to “keep the faith” and you will be walking on sunshine. It’s a look at the real life challenges that come up when you DECIDE to have faith on your journey.

In addition to powerful testimonies to God’s grace (even under pressure), this book was written to comfort, empower and inspire readers to do the work to have, keep and strengthen their faith on a daily basis.

Author

T. L Jackson

T.L. Jackson was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in church. Her love of God pushed her to join the church choir and drama team. These clubs helped her build who she is today: Sunday school and Bible Study were her favorites. She lives to inspire, uplift, and empower others to be their best selves. Because of her relationship with God, she brought her three children up in the church. When she’s not listening to gospel music, attending plays, traveling, or reading, she is spreading God’s love to others.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS, DEDICATIONS AND THANKS FROM THE AUTHOR…

I dedicate this book to three people who had the greatest impact on my life. Each contributed in different ways, at different times but all the while they etched a lasting impression on my heart and mind. They taught me, in their unique way, invaluable lessons about love, God, family, happiness and courage. Prior to writing this book, they each went on to glory and continue to teach me lessons through my fondest memories of how they lived their lives.

    Reverend Diane Fountleroy

Reverend Diane held many titles. She was my Pastor, my spiritual Matriarch and my friend. When I was a child, she was the first person to introduce and welcome me to Christ. As I progressed into adulthood, she embraced and nurtured me with the word of God when I truly needed it. She exhibited her love for Christ daily, thereby paving the way for me to develop a relationship with God also. Rev was an excellent drama Teacher. She directed, casted and wrote her plays making them some of the most amazing plays ever!

I made her weekly bible studies a priority because she was an excellent teacher with a passion that was unparalleled. She had the uncanny ability to captivate the hearts and minds of everyone she taught. Bible study at her home, would continue into the late hours of the night. Looking back, I miss those days of her teachings, our phone conversations and her love. She always encouraged me to stop running from God. Oftentimes, she told me with a passion, God wants to do something mighty in your life!

Well Rev, (as I lovingly called her), I finally stopped running and have decided to let God use me for His Glory! Thank you for everything Rev, you are missed!

    Warren Jerome Wilcox aka Ronzo

My first nephew Jerome, was more like a son. I can clearly remember the day my sister unveiled her tiny bundle of joy. He stole my heart from that moment on. I can truly say that my Ronzo was a major blessing in my life. He was strikingly handsome, highly intelligent, very kind and could turn the darkest of days sunny and bright with just his smile. LISTEN Y’ALL…HE WAS ALL THAT! When he came into town from school break, he’d make a special stop at my newly opened café. My Ronzo would jump right in to help and would do anything that I would ask of him. I recall one morning; my phone rang and it was Ronzo. He said, Aunt Tonya, I didn't need anything. I just called to tell you that I love you and that I'm so proud of you! Those words were foreign to me, I didn’t hear them often. I wanted to let out a big cry. I was so touched and filled with the love pouring out of him and into me. How many young adults do you know of these days that would do that? MY RONZO did! I know heaven is brighter since you have been there!

    Save me a seat Ronzo!

    Kevin Jackson Sr.

Kevin was my first and only real-life ride or die partner. Many people knew him as just my husband but what they didn't realize was that Kevin was my life line. He was always there when I really needed him. He motivated me to embrace my vision. He encouraged me to chase after my passion. He taught me to be courageous in the face of fear and to take chances. Because of Kevin, I didn't learn until much later in life the true meaning of unconditional love. I was blessed to be able to care for Kevin until his name appeared on heaven’s roll call. Rest well to my ride or die partner, we will ride together again soon!
