- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is well written, but the artist’s style is completely distracting, for me, and I found it difficult to absorb the information, or enjoy the book, because the images of his work that accompanied the text were so offputting. Our taste in art, especially in completely abstract work (which is my preference), is so subjective, but can be so powerful, and that’s the problem here. If you like his style, you’ll enjoy the book. If you dislike it, as I did (sorry), you’ll probably find the book hard to engage with.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I found this book extremely motivating and inspiring. It is clear that the artist has a wealth of knowledge and experience and a gem that he has shared this so openly and honestly. It is very readable with practical suggestions and ideas but also challenging in areas and something I will use often to support my own studio practice. I would recommend this book without hesitation.
