About this ebook

Continuing their first semester at university, fast friends Susan, Esther, and Daisy want to find their footing in life. The girls, along with their male hall-mates, Ed and McGraw find that college is more than academics and bad microwavable meals. Add some pub hopping, hookups, breakups and political scandal this might just be the most eventful first semester ever. Giant Days, the comedic slice-of-life series from creator John Allison (Bad Machinery, Scary Go Round) and fantastic newcomer Max Sarin, has graduated to a third volume, collecting issues 9-12 of the Eisner Award-nominated series.

John Allison

Born in a hidden village deep within the British Alps, John Allison came into this world a respectable baby with style and taste. Having been exposed to American comics at an early age, he spent decades honing his keen mind and his massive body in order to burn out this colonial cultural infection. One of the longest continuously publishing independent web-based cartoonists, John has plied his trade since the late nineties moving from Bobbins to Scary Go Round to Bad Machinery, developing the deeply weird world of Tackleford long after many of his fellow artists were ground into dust and bones by Time Itself. He has only once shed a single tear, but you only meet Sergio Aragonés for the first time once. John resides in Letchworth Garden City, England, and is known to his fellow villagers only as He Who Has Conquered.

I read Vol 1 and 2 three months ago and found it little hard to remember what happened in them, but it seemed to me that the plots weren't very tightly connected. This was fairly enjoyable but not my fave. I thought this was a bit all over the place and I'm not sure I really understood that whole election plot. Daisy was my favorite in this one and I felt sorry for Ed and McGraw. Didn't like Esther and Susan very much this time around.
