In this chapter, we will look at some overall guidelines for weight loss and how you can use these to help you lose weight and maintain it over time.
First of all, what is the perfect body shape?
There is no perfect body shape. You may have an ideal image in mind of how you would like your body to be, and that’s great. It’s important to have a clear objective and something to keep you motivated in your weight loss journey. But striving for perfection is not healthy. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The key point of weight loss is to be strong, healthy, and good to your body so you can have an active, fulfilling life. Obesity is a silent, slow killer and comes with all sorts of associated risks. By getting down to your optimal weight (a weight that is unique to you and different for everyone), you can significantly reduce several health problems linked to being overweight or obese. The following list is some common health issues that are directly linked to obesity. Although not all obese people will suffer from these conditions, carrying too much excess fat on the body can dramatically increase the chances of suffering from them.

› High blood pressure.
› Diabetes.
› Osteoarthritis.
› Gout.
