Introduction
This book comes from the writer’s own journey from Hell and back. Also after twenty-five years of ministry I have seen people devastated by tragedies of life, and unable to move on in the journey of life.
It is sad, but so true, that many people who are hit by tragedies of life hate God and the world. The reality is that it does not stop the world from continuing. The anger against God or those whom they feel brought about the tragedies does nothing more than keep them from over coming and giving back to the world, which has many beautiful aspects to its evolution and process.
Looking back at my own tragedies in life I realized, I need to not only survive, but too over come the obstacles of life. Tragedies are awful, but a part of the fallen world, in which we live. So many people simply survive the tragedies in their lives, but never over come them in order to be a vibrant essence in the world. They simply shut down and allow the tragedies to consume their lives and they simply exist.
In the pages ahead the writer hopes to share gems on how to get beyond ones tragedies. The human makeup is able to with stand the tides of life and ride it out to a safe place. Yes we can over come anything that comes our way. It will take a lot of hard work and determination, not to allow anything or anyone to let us down. What we need to realize is that people, places, and things can and will let us down.
People scream why and life is not fair. Nope it’s not always fair in our eyes nor can we totally understand all the terrible things that happen in our world. Life is a journey we are all on and where it leads only God knows.
To blame God for it all is ok He can take it. Just remember what you think of God does not change the journey, it only changes the outcome. Only we can decide that we want a better outcome to those things that slap us hard in the face. How we react to the journey is important and we will either take the high road or the low road the choice is ours.
Hopefully the chapters ahead will show you that in order to over come any tragedies of life one must be willing to do the work in order to get too that place. One must believe in hope, healing and a willingness to fight the battles of life, which will come. Hopefully you can say the Apostle Paul in the New Testament of the Bible said: I have fought the good fight and I have won the battle. My rewards are stored in Heaven and not on earth.
Unfortunately there are those who do not believe in Heaven or a hear and after. They simply believe life ends at death and that is a tragedy itself. Unless you believe there is something better than this life you will never understand how to over come anything that would destroy the body. Life is a learning process, which takes us to a new world when life ends in death. Enough preaching, but I hope you get this point, because if you don’t then life will never have any meaning or hope for a better tomorrow.
We all like good things to happen for us in this life, but it is not a guarantee or a promise, even to the greatest saint who ever lived. Nobody likes bad things to happen to them nor do they like being in the valleys of life. We can all agree that the valleys of life are not an easy place to find ourselves, but it is in those times we can learn the greatest lessons of life and come out stronger.
Once we can accept the fact that tragedies happen to good people and God never promised us a rose garden here on earth can we go on in life’s journey. Again tragedies happen everyday and it maybe you who will face such valleys. Hopefully this book will help you or someone who know who are caught in the webs of tragedies and cannot seem to go on in life.
In the chapters ahead we will look at those feelings, which are normal, but we can not stay there if we are to move on in the journey of life with a good attitude. It is the writers prayer that those who are in the valley’s of life, who are not able to get something out of the hard times, will find themselves on the mountaintops at the end of this book. The following poem sets the stage for the chapters ahead:
It’s In The Valleys I Grow
Sometimes life seems hard to bear. Full of sorrow, troubles and woe its then I have to remember it’s in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountaintop and never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God’s love and would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn and my growth is very slow. Sometimes I need the mountaintops, but it’s in the valleys I grow.
I do not always understand why things happen as they do. But I am very sure of one thing my Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing when I picture Christ on the cross. He went through the valley of death; His victory was Satan’s loss.
Forgive me Lord, for complaining when I’m feeling so very low. Just give me a gentle reminder that it’s in the valleys I grow.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord and use my life each day to share your love with others and help them find their way.
Thank you for valleys, Lord for this one thing I know. The mountaintops are glorious, but it’s in the valleys I grow.
It is a matter of attitude or a state of mind that helps us to see through the foggy clouds of tragedies that hit us all, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. There is a rainbow of hope, which gives way to victory. Yes this too will pass in time and we will come out on top. Oh we can’t take away what has happen, but we can change the outcome by our attitude and the ability to grow. The question you need to ask yourself is this. Are you willing to learn from your tragedies (valleys)? At this point you maybe saying no or I don’t know. Hopefully by the end of the book you will have a better understanding of how to come out on top of your circumstances and be an over comer. Don’t be one of those people who simply survives life, because they are not willing to work through the pain of life’s circumstances and go on with life. Yes you can do it and hopefully the pages ahead will help you find your way
