Unequally Yoked: Speaking from the Heart
()
About this ebook
This book is a compilation of poetry written over a period of three and a half years. To be unequally yoked means to be joined together with someone whodoesnot share the same beliefs. The Bible tells us to be equally yoked, but often the feelings of the flesh overpower us and we forget to do that. When one person is striving to walk in the will of God and the other has not settled yet, the terms Unequally Yoked come to mind, hence the title of the book. Written from the perspective of a married woman trying to raise two boys, many women (married or single) will be able to relate to the thoughts in this book. Not to limit the audience, there may be men who suffer the consequences of being Unequally Yoked as well.
These are the comments peers have given in response to reading the pages of my life.

I am a wife of nine years and the mother of two wonderful boys. I found comfort in expressing my feelings in poetry. In the beginning, I did not intend to make public my most private feelings. As I live life and come into contact with many people, I have found that many women, specifically, experience the very same roller coaster feelings that I do. Because I love my husband and I know that he loves me, I hope to one day prepare a sequel to this book sharing all of the joyous times to come.

This book is dedicated to all the women who are hurting and struggling in relationships that are Unequally Yoked. Maybe your relationship with God has diminished in light of trying to appease your husband. I have prayed and cried for a man of God, for a marriage aligned with the word of God. It all comes back to the scripture found in Matthew 6: 33, Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
It is with that promise that I anticipate publishing Equally Yoked soon….

Promised Love
Isn’t it sad when the one you love goes away?
You’ve done nothing wrong; you just want him to stay.
Isn’t it sad to be alone, even when you’re married?
A constant absence, the family you must carry.
Is it too much to ask for his precious time?
Is it too much to yearn for a loving relationship?
Is it too much to be wined and dined?
Is it too impossible to take a fun trip?
Day after day and night after night
I just want for the family what’s right!
The heart can only take so much.
It fails when it lacks the touch.
The touch of the love that you’re promised to.
The touch of the love I found in you.
