About this ebook

Why do I feel that this is not the first time that I am writing this book? Why do I feel I understand the phenomenon déjà-vu? Why do I have a feeling that we were the ones to build the noticeable pyramids and countless signs to remind ourselves of what is about to happen? Is the reincarnation theory just the way our minds remember living the same life over and over again? Why do you feel that this words seem familiar and that this is not the first time you are reading them? (Based on real dreams)

    Introduction

Why do I feel that this is not the first time that I am writing this book? Why do I feel I understand the phenomenon déjà-vu? Why do I have a feeling that we were the ones to build the noticeable pyramids and countless signs to remind ourselves of what is about to happen? Is the reincarnation theory the way we remember living the same life over and over again? Why do you feel that this words seem familiar and that this is not the first time you are reading them?

I have always asked myself, who am I? Although I am the first son of a regular American family, I always have these urges and thoughts on the back of my mind. I know that there is something missing; something to be discovered in this life. I have a sister… she is fourteen and very curious as I am. She likes to impersonate different animate characters and also likes to design different costumes to act and perform stories. Her name is Alexandria, but we call her Alexa. Why we do not call her Alex you may ask? My name is Alexander, but everyone calls me Alex. Yes, I know… I know the confusion. Whenever we are in the same room or together and mom or dad calls us, we have to wait for a millisecond to see if whoever is calling mentions the letter a right after the letter x. It’s either Alex or Alexa. They only mention our full name when they really want to get our attention, or when one of us is in trouble.

Well… about me; I am sixteen and my parents have been together for twenty-seven years. My dad says that my mom is his high school sweetheart and had a crush on her since the third grade. I have a couple of crushes myself, my second grade teacher, well… that crush is long gone; and Kendra. Yes, she is the most beautiful girl that surfaced the earth. She is nice and when she looks at me, it feels like she is looking into my soul. Every time I see her, it’s like she is walking in slow motion. She is my girlfriend; the only problem is that she doesn’t know it yet. Please don’t tell.

I am sure my love is for her but my love for nature and architecture seems to dominate my persona. I love the colors of the trees and flowers during springtime, and the leaves changing in the fall. It feels like leaves are succumbing to the cold weather; falling in a process of suffocation, changing their norm until completely dried up. I always find myself studying and contemplating the architecture of old buildings, and warehouses. Sometimes when inside a warehouse, the smell of old wood that blends with the smell of years that has gone-by in whatever filled it, and the way the walls look unsafely in how its holding the roof. The atmosphere makes me get lost in a world of curiosity and adventure.

Every time I see something that was created or built a long time ago, I always wonder, who did this? Not necessarily who designed it, but who actually put it together? What was the process? How long it did it take to build it, and when exactly was it done? I wish I had the power to touch something and get visions of how it was created, who did it, and the details behind it. It doesn’t matter what it is, it could be an old building, an old fence made out of thousands of wood sticks, or even a wall of stones in the middle of the desert abandoned thousands of years ago.

Well, my parents work hard so we could get a good education, as they always say, so we could have things that they only wished they had when they were growing up. Believe me, they always make sure to let us know; I wish I had all the things that you guys have today. We had no toys! No cellular phones! We had nothing!. I’m guessing that this is why they work hard; therefore they don’t spend much time with us during the week. They plan things to do on the weekends together as a family for that reason. Sometimes it is the movies, or a park, or just visiting my grandparents to pretend that we are in the 50’s. So… guess where we were going that weekend. We were going camping in the middle of nowhere!

Everything started on a camping trip with my family. We planned a weekend of camping and fishing on one camping park on a date that fell on one of these nights when you were able to see some extra planets. It was the last week of November, somewhat cold but not too cold. We packed all of our camping gear including two tents to fit the five of us, yes; Kendra went with us since my sister invited her. From what I could tell, we were able to fit into those tents.

So there we were on a Friday right after 1 pm waiting on my dad to get home from work so we could start heading to the countryside of Colorado in the quest on finding a lake named Owl Lake in the middle of the mountains. I just made sure that I had my comfortable hiking tennis shoes so we could go through a trail that led us to the lake.

My dad was home a little later than planned since he had too much work, but still left earlier than his regular out time so we could start traveling before traffic. He changed clothes with so much rush to end up bumper to bumper in city traffic for 45 minutes. Well, at least it was not the regular hour and a half of traffic until we finally leave the hectic city life.

One of the main pleasures about traveling for me it is not only the destination, but also the pleasure of stopping to eat out. I like the chance to order something different to discover how it tastes. Well, it works both ways… sometimes I get something with a weird taste, but still I eat it since I also do not like to waste food. Though I think it is nice to stop in new places to eat. Sometimes we stop on a non-franchise family restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Like those places where everyone starts looking at you and no one says hello, making it a little freaky.

I ordered a regular club sandwich that for my surprise had raisins on it I asked my family,

Since when did club sandwiches had raisins in it?

I found out about the raisins right after I gave it my first bite. Even though I like to order new things, I
