About this ebook

After undergoing an intensive and educational religious formation in the way of loving for many years, I found myself sharing several among many other wisdom I have learned along the way, to help enhance not only the personality and attitude, if not life itself, for these similar wisdom opened several horizons of my own life. Thus, hopingly, it will do the same for the others. The above, I published by the Ice Machine wherein workers fill their cup with ice every morning before work, thus help imbibe the wisdom they see and read before the days work. These they freely share with their family back home, friends, and others they encounter.

*After reading Wisdom Corner, I saw for myself the interconnectedness of all the events of my life: - a Bachelors of Nursing Graduate of the Philippines, turned into a fulltime housewife and raised two loving accomplished children now adults - and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that I feel valued and worthy with the time spent in doing the above - with love that goes beyond the physical. I found several more ideas on how life can be enjoyed and lived to the fullest, for I have now realized what I tried to explain before, is Gods will for me. --France D. Frianeza Philippines to Chicago.

*The book is Wonderful! --Danny Aberin, M.D., Denmark, Europe

The Author underwent a formation in loving after she encountered the Spirituality of Jesus Forsaken through the Work of Mary, founded by Chiara Lubich. Through years of exposure to the Word of Life, Living City and an intensive, educational religious experience in her formation in loving also at a time when she was also undergoing her training in the field of her endeavor. Both influenced her community service; her cultural exchange experience; her own contribution in her field of endeavor that she was selected Among 20,000 Candidates as First Among Eleven Others Most Outstanding US Citizen by the Citizenship Council of Metropolitan Chicago, established by President Dwight Eisenhower himself. She tried also to share what opened horizons of her life during her formation and this book is just one of it.

As the First Among eleven others Most Outstanding New Citizen, she gave the acceptance speech which embodied the general wisdom from her formation in loving, and reflected the seeds of not only assimilating, integrating, but contributing to her culture medicine and community. For every obstacle made use as a springboard is just one of those wisdom and this book is a fruit of such wisdom, having the time serve instead of serving time.

    About the Author

    LOGO Meaning:

    JULIET DUMLAO, MD

    • At the center is the cross with Jesus nailed to it, at the moment when He cries out My God, My God why have You forsaken Me? ; or Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?; believed to be the moment when He suffered the most. At His center, therefore, is the heart, symbolizing His love.

    • It is one’s choice of God, when faced with suffering, to recognize Him, His façade, and the Substance behind the suffering. This is especially while incarcerated, during painful periods filled with doubt, fear, humiliation, and separation from loved ones. With an act of one’s own will one’s suffering may be united with His. This must always be done immediately, and always with joy, embracing, loving Him at that moment. Because of this union with God, we bring into our lives the presence and fruits of the Holy Spirit. In my logo this is symbolized by the dove entering the roof in the upper left corner.

    • The gifts of the Holy Spirit, or God’s own spirit, include: joy, peace, love, courage, strength, kindness, gentleness, light, docility and wisdom.

    • Because this is my personal logo, and also that of others who might embrace it’s concept, the initials JD represent Juliet Dumlao or possibly Justice Department, Jesus Died, or Justice Denied.

    • The figure at the top represents MCC’s rooftop, the meshwork a symbol for the helicopter mesh and razor wire.

    • The bars represent interrupted gates from the top to the bottom of the institution.

    • The bricks along the sides stand for prison walls. The interruptions between them symbolize the fact that no one can imprison our minds.

    • This philosophy, a universal truth, claims that Jesus was crucified and forsaken, and out of love, suffered His own pain of separation from His Father. During His most painful moment, when He loved me the most, He cried My God, My God, Why have You Forsaken Me? In my choice of Him, the Substance behind all my suffering, I may unite with His and with the desire for the eternal lying in each human heart, I may receive the promised fruits of the Holy Spirit.

ALL THE BLESSINGS ONE SEARCHES FOR AS A HUMAN BEING, RIGHT AT OUR FINGERTIPS FOR THE TAKING…

    Foreword

When and how do you start to love? Immediately and on all occasions, it is the calling of every Christian. This book is a small contribution that may help anyone how to do it through simple tips. These tips that are being shared by someone who also learned through these same tips (among many more) in the same search process. By simplifying things, that may at first appear complicated, but Jesus said, For those who love Me, I will manifest Myself. This small guide will encourage anyone to take a simpler route: the way of loving. However, it will take one’s act of the will to decide. Consider this book like a shot in the arm… of encouragement. This is most specially for those who are searching for life’s ultimate meaning. The Key to all of the above is summarized in the Logo on Jesus Forsaken, which also appeared in the Wisdom Corner.

    Introduction

Compiled herein is WISDOM published in the so-called Wisdom Corner, located in front of an ice machine, where on a daily basis, inspirational sayings were posted, intended for the work force as well as interested staff members. There were about 65 of this work force and only maybe five or six of the staff. I was just transferred to this area from an area called ADP (Automated Data Processing), since it downsized from 50 to 25. I was among those selected to come to an area called Computer Parts Recycling. To qualify for this area and be on the top of the transfer list, one had to have ‘out-custody and not have a lot of sick calls.’

The Boss was newly transferred into this Recycle area, from another area called De Mil. I once happened to overhear him mumble, I have to deal with 65 different personalities… ! Since he was not talking to anyone in particular and previously worked in large places, I applied, the Spanish saying, Sea preparada siempre, which means, be prepared always. In this case, to be ready to come up with a solution. I just thought that being prepared with all the wisdom—not only having collected wisdom as I was growing up, but having attended many religious conventions of a movement full of wisdom and in the world and there for the taking…—the solution to take care of 65 different personalities is just my cup of tea. The wisdom, running through my mind, living the Chinese Proverb, was what good is wisdom if you cannot quote or write it with the tip of your pen? In other words, to be able to use them for most times is to be able to quote or write or live these!

I was also new in this place like my boss. There were also several new people, although I had met at least 25 of them previously when I worked in ADP (Automated Data Processing). Considering then, the wisdom ingrained in me for so many years of summer conventions, years of formation in loving, several conventions of formation in the vocation I intended to embrace and books of Spirituality, I did not hesitate for a moment to ask for my Boss’s permission, I asked if I could  . . . publish a WISDOM CORNER by the ice machine to help these 65 new personalities. As soon as he approved it, I instantly wrote lot of the wisdom I learned over a period of several years, not only from the above sources but also from having gradually studied my faith, the Bible, quotations from famous Saints, from the School of Life formation, summer conventions called Mariapolises, from several of the 32 books of the Author of the Word of Life, and from the
