She writes about the true experiences and challenges that she and her children faced. During this period in their lives, they experienced humbling and stressful events, but they also felt the hope that having Jesus in their lives brought to them. His love made it possible for them to go on and to have joyful and successful lives. Even during the worst times, they believed in Jesus and knew that He was there for them.
Following Eileens divorce, they experienced very tough times. As Christmas drew near, she had no job and no prospects for one; whats more, unbeknownst to her children, she faced losing the family car and being evicted from their home. Faith carried them through, however, because they focused on what they were grateful for and their future hopes and dreams. It was from that strong faith that the gift of the twelve little boxes was borna gift that her children would cherish for the rest of their lives. From that Christmas came a family tradition that lives on today.
Jesus Answered with Twelve Little Boxes is a story of courage and an unshakable faith in Jesus that makes all things possible.

CHAPTER 1
The Big D
As a divorced woman I felt like I had a capitol D on my forehead. I did not want the divorce and certainly did not know what to do afterward. I found myself asking, Why is this happening to us?
In my church affiliation, there were limits on what I could do since becoming divorced. My family was incomplete, my ministry was incomplete and responsibilities I once shared with a husband were now mine. Now everything was my responsibility. It was a little frightening. Well, I confess it was scary. God knew what and how I needed to learn—and believe me, I had a lot to learn. Living through an experience is a good teacher, of course, but I would rather learn by hearing about it. That probably would not grow my faith, though. So let the learning begin.
As a single parent with two children we had good times, exciting times, challenging times and low times. I had no idea what was to come. It was August and time for the kids to get ready for school. Getting school supplies, clothes, shoes and all the things kids need to begin a new school year. The kids always loved this shopping time. They loved going and picking out their new stuff. The year after the divorce was different. I was able to purchase the bare necessities but not more for my son, Tommy and my daughter, Heather. With just the two kids I didn’t even have hand-me-downs to rely on. Kids can be so impressionable, influenced by name brands and whatever the other kids are wearing.
