PREFACE
From childhood, I was brought up with a very strong belief in GOD and religion and was encouraged to follow its language literally as a true word of God, the creator of this universe we live in, to incorporate religious principles of the scriptures in our day to day activities. Praying to God regularly asking for favors, to put me out of trouble was a regular practice. Praying to God before and after every activity repeatedly had become a norm in my life and was I well appreciated for that.
In this process, I came across other religious believers, who more or less contradicted the description of God and the existence of this world we live in. Morality i.e. the way of life was often challenged by believers from other societies and followers of other religions. I often thought they were all evil people because they did not follow my religion, which defines our world accurately; and for not believing in the language revealed by God himself. I strongly believed that they were all evil and would burn in hell after their death. I felt that I was the only one who will be going to heaven sitting beside God and having fun.
As time passed by when I went for higher education which mostly involved scientific language, I began doubting my religious scriptures to be true the words of God. May be it was just words of men through ages, because it was contradicting scientific language in many aspects. Then I began to compare scientific language with religious language and sometimes I would come across a situation where both contradicted each other strongly. I satisfied myself saying that scientific language was full of assumptions and tended to go wrong over time and was unreliable. I kept learning the language just for professional purposes keeping this in mind. But after some time I just could not hold onto the overwhelming open mindedness and higher intelligence this scientific language incorporated in my thoughts, corroborating with ample evidence. I started checking the correctness of my religious language and also comparing it with scientific language. In this process through course of time, my thoughts changed completely and opened my mind to reality. I also began thinking that all the different people around me were also breathing the same air, living on the same earth, facing both good and bad in the society and from nature. Just because my thoughts differed from theirs did not make them really evil. They could not be different from me! After looking at the world with open mind, I felt that I was just another human being like them.
As the world is getting more and more globalised along with growing transportation, information and communication technology, the communication between people with different beliefs, religions races etc has been happening on a larger and faster scale unlike ever before. This has resulted in clashes among different societies across the globe. This has been creating a lot of confusion and insecurity among societies all around the developing and developed world. People have been debating about religion, morality and the way to organize their societies on a larger scale because countries are becoming more and more multicultural and it has become very important to develop a standard code of conduct to be incorporated in our societies.
So here I am writing this book to express my views and understanding about God, religion, science and morality based on my life experiences and their impact on our mind and on our society in this modern world. I guess I might be able to solve some of the confusing issues among societies about God, science, religion and morality.
I have tried to put this book forward to express my perceptions in as simple language as possible which I guess is easily understandable. I believe this book will be helpful especially to those who are facing strong religious fundamentalism in their societies as the world is getting more and more multicultural at a faster pace. This may be of help while discussing and arguing about the evil side of religious ignorance and intolerance. Hope it will lead to people becoming more open minded towards their religion and also to make them start opening their minds to reality.
EXAMINING OUR LANGUAGE
To understand this world we live in, first we need to understand ourselves and the language we use to
