      Well obviously, there is a big reason behind why I chose to read and review this book. It reflects back on the history of one of my favorite sports teams of all time. The book included history from the state in which I grew up, making it that more appealing to me! There were a few things that I did not like, but overall I felt the book was a very good read. I'll start with the organization of the book. The book was written in sequential order, starting with the creation of the team in 1996, and ending with the year they won the Super bowl in 2012. Although the chapters were entitled after important events in Raven history (ie: Chapter 4: Inspiration for a title), I feel the author could have been more creative with his writing. The chapters were simply divided into sub-chapters which were titled after the names of players or other Raven personnel. The chapters lacked flow and connection between them. Each chapter seemed to end abruptly and have a poor transition into the next chapter. Obviously, one thing I did enjoy about this book was all of the characters. Technically they weren't characters, but more so small biography's on players and personnel. However, some of these areas of writing were very intriguing. The writing included quotes, stories, and mindsets that the average person may have never known without reading this book. My favorite example of this would have to be the sub-chapter on Steve McNair. McNair came to the Ravens in 2006 at the quarterback position. "There was no greater warrior or player with a bigger heart than Steve McNair," linebacker Ray Lewis said. McNair had an outstanding season in 2006, leading the Ravens to a franchise best 13-3 record. Due to injuries, he had a very poor 2007 season, and announced his retirement in 2008. My favorite quote in the whole book came in this chapter by Derrick Mason, discussing the untimely death of Steve McNair in July of 2009. "I've known him for 13 years, and he was the most selfless, happiest, and friendliest person I have ever known. On the field, there isn't a player that was as tough as him, especially at the quarterback position. What I have seen him play through on the field, and what he dealt with during the week to get ready for a game, I have never known a better teammate". This quote brings such emotion and feeling to the reader that one can't help but feel for the ones close to McNair who had to deal with this untimely tragedy. The big idea of this book is simple; to inform the reader about the history of the Baltimore Ravens. However, there were points in the book where I felt a sense of inspiration in the authors writing, such as the trials and troubles that the team went through while searching for a franchise quarterback. There is a lot of humor and a few sad moments in the book, but it keeps the reader intrigued. Overall, I did enjoy reading this book very much. If you like football or even just enjoy sports, then you will definitely enjoy this book.
