90 Days of Believing God: A Journey to Increasing Your Personal Faith (Devotional & Journal)
By Rodney Payne
()
About this ebook
The 90 Days to Believing God & Journal is the follow-up resource to 90 Days to Believing God, the book. My ultimate goal in writing the book was to increase believer’s faith as they take this journey. Reflecting on the process, I believe the book is a great resource in answering believers’ questions regarding faith and the process of believing God. It provides a practical approach to understanding and operating in faith and challenges readers to grow.
The devotional and journal take this faith-building process to the next level of application. Each day the reader will be taken through five phases of this intentional faith-building process: Believing God Scripture, Believing God Focus, Believing God Devotional, Believing God Thoughts, and Believing God Challenge.
The Believing God Scripture is designed to focus the reader on the Word of God as the solution to all of life’s circumstances. The Believing God Focus provides a brief statement designed to direct the reader’s attention to one of God’s many attributes. The Believing God Devotional provides a relevant application of the scripture and focus for the day. The Believing God Thoughts deliver two probing questions to provoke thought and to challenge the reader to consider his or her perspective. Finally, the Believing God Challenge provides the reader an opportunity to capture in this journal section of the devotional how he or she was challenged each day and what he or she will do as a result of the challenge.
If you want to experience measurable growth in your faith, this book is for you! Please join Rodney Payne on this 90-day journey!
Rodney Payne
Rev. Rodney R. Payne has a love for God, the people of God, and the work of God. His personal approach is focused on loving the people of God and equipping them for the work of the ministry. Prior to yielding to God’s call to preach, he served as an ordained deacon at The Loving St. James Baptist Church in Spencer, Oklahoma, for two years. Rev. Payne then accepted his call to the ministry and preached his first sermon November 27, 1996. He became an ordained minister July 28, 2002, at The Loving St. James Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. W. B. Parker. Pastor Payne serves in many capacities in the work of the Lord. In 1999 he and Sister Thelma Payne founded One Voice Ministries, a non-profit marital and family enrichment ministry. His weekly Periscope broadcast, “Speaking with One Voice,” has a substantial following, enriching the lives of viewers. He also has established a leadership company, One Voice Leadership, in which he trains and equips leaders and organizations to achieve optimal performance within their companies. His focus to prepare others for the kingdom of God is evidenced by his personal mission to equip individuals to experience the power of God, every day, in every area of their life. Prior to becoming a full-time pastor, Rev. Payne served in outreach and street ministries and as a Sunday School teacher, youth pastor, and associate minister. He also served as assistant pastor at Bethlehem Star Baptist Church for three years prior to being called to pastor the church in December 2008. He was officially installed as pastor January 11, 2009. Since becoming pastor, the church campus has grown with the expansion of the existing facility with the addition of areas for youth and children’s ministries as well as a new administrative area. With the acquisition of three adjacent parcels of land, Bethlehem Star is positioned to grow yet again to support even more of the community’s needs. Pastor Payne established a new program, Operation Increasing the Body of Christ, a successful outreach program that has led to a tremendous growth in membership. In 2014 his vision to continuously reach the populace of the metro area led to the three-day event Praise Beyond the Walls, partnering with local and private businesses, law enforcement agencies, and churches in an effort to provide support in the communities. This free epic outreach event focused on meeting the needs of the community by ministering to the whole person. The vision for Praise Beyond the Walls was expanded to a weeklong event that included everything from health and wellness checks to professional development, a job fair, entrepreneur development, a leadership conference, and much more. Pastor Payne also hosted another community-focused initiative “It Will Get Better” (in collaboration with metro-area law enforcement personnel) that confirmed and showed support to local police officers as well as showing communities that they are not alone and that the law officials are there to serve and protect them. Pastor Payne currently serves as Regional Director for the National Evangelism Movement, Incorporated. He is the husband of Sister Thelma Payne. They have been married for twenty-seven years and have two beautiful daughters and one son-in-law, Danielle (Trevel) and Devin.

90 Days of Believing God - Rodney Payne
When you are as blessed as I am, you’ll have to agree that there are a multitude of people worthy of a book dedication. This project is the culmination of a year of extreme stretching and growth for me. It seems the Lord has been seeking to give me an intimate personal account of what it really means to believe Him.
The Lord has literally expanded my capacity in every area, further exposing my purpose to me. So as I deliver to you a second edition of what some thought might never make it past the first edition, I dedicate this book to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
You see, the Lord knew what He had in store for me all along. With His tenderhearted love and unfailing mercy, He has gently (and sometimes not so gently) guided me into the truth He has for me. Quite frankly, there have been many times along this journey of becoming an author that I have questioned myself. But with every question God has continued further revealing His purpose for me.
While every work the Lord so graciously allows me to complete is dedicated to Him, this one is very special. Even as I write this dedication, my steps are being ordered to places I could have only dreamt about going in the past. There are many others for whom I will provide recognition along the way, but even they are ultimately a gift from God to me. Thank You, Lord, for equipping me, empowering me, and using me in Your kingdom work.
Special Thanks
Following are a few people I would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to. Devin and Danielle, my beautiful, amazingly talented, successful, and Spirit-filled daughters, thank you for promoting and selling the first book. You set up product tables and modified your schedule just to help me get the book out there. There is no way I could have made it without you!
I would also like to extend a posthumous thank-you to Reverend Doctor Bertrand M. Bailey Sr. Dr. Bailey, I had the privilege of meeting you and engaging in a dialogue with you only one time. I will just call that meeting at Grace OKC a once-in-a-lifetime meeting. You encouraged me as a preacher, you encouraged me as an author, and you told me to keep on writing. Well, Dr. Bailey, I’m still writing and I’m not stopping here. Thank you for your support (you bought ten books) and your encouragement. I now have a bond with your family that will never be broken. Thank you, Bailey Clan,
for allowing me to tag along during some very special and sacred moments of your life. Mom Bailey, thank you for always smiling and continuing to encourage me.
Finally, to all my family, friends, BSBC family, One Voice, clients, mentors, and mentees, thank you! You continue giving me purpose!
To God be the glory for the things He has done!

About the Author
How to Use This Devotional
This devotional is designed to help an individual grow in his or her faith experience. Although it can stand alone, it is best used when partnered with the book 90 Days of Believing God. This devotional is aligned with chapters 1 through 13 of the book. In the sample below I have outlined how to use each section of the daily devotional. As an overview, there are five sections to each day: Believing God Scripture, Believing God Focus, Believing God Devotional, Believing God Thoughts, and finally the Believing God Challenge. The ultimate goal of this devotional is to combine scripture with life experience to challenge the reader to identify, assess, and apply his or her faith. In the Believing God Challenge the reader is given the opportunity to journal daily regarding his or her faith journey. In as little as five to ten minutes per day the reader will be positioned to grow daily in his or her faith. Yes, faith is a journey. Based on the reader’s willingness to invest in the process, his or her faith experience can be enhanced.
The following is a sample devotional with explanations of each section.
Believing God Scripture
Corinthians 3:7 (NLT)
It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.
In this section you will be given a daily scripture. This scripture will focus on a weekly topic that aligns with a specific chapter in the book 90 Days of Believing God.
Believing God Focus
Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back.
The Believing God Focus will center the reader’s attention to a specific thought. Ultimately, if we focus our day we can focus our faith. A focused faith is measurable as well as impactful to the believer’s everyday experience.
Believing God Devotional
Have you ever encountered people who seem to be responsible for the moon being strategically placed in the sky, or they in their own wisdom and power have provided beauty for the night sky by placing the diamond sparkling stars in the sky? I realize these are farfetched examples to describe people who present themselves as if they are the ones responsible for every good thing that has happened in your life. Unfortunately, many people like to take credit for what only God could actually accomplish in their lives. Yes, God does use people to help His people, but make no mistake about it—God is the provider of increase. Don’t fall into the trap of believing that you are the essential component in God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Rather, consider that you are but a component of a much larger plan. God wants to use you in the process of redeeming humanity. Make it your business to understand that it is God who has given you the privilege to plant, or maybe even water, and it is God alone who gives the increase.
The Believing God Devotional section will use various methods of discussion and presentation to give the reader the opportunity to take a relatable experience and use this information to encourage, empower, and even challenge himself or herself to engage in the
