Oracle - L. Isijola
Words
will your words penetrate
creating waves of light
into the empty halls of hollowed-out hearts
will your words drill like a jack-hammer
into heads of steel drums
to wake up sleeping giants
will your words become salt
to season bland conscience
Gravity
the energy it takes to walk tall
with your head held up in defiance
anti-gravity
when all you want to do is surrender to the force
pushing against your skull
driving it downward to the ground
give in to the comfort of the push
downcast eyes zoomed to square tiles under soles
cower join and fall in
