    Chapter One

Widow Allison Lockwood loved Bingo, but she never had time while being a wife, and a mother. She went a few times with her elderly neighbor from across the street, Doris, who had invited her. Doris wanted to drink a two dollar Jim Beam and coke and needed a designated driver.

Her teenage daughter had turned sixteen a few months prior to the first invitation, and she felt that was old enough to look after herself after the sun went down. Doris was a lonely septuagenarian, and who could blame her for wanting to get lost in an alcohol haze and the drama of a lottery played out on a BINGO card?

Allison became hooked after winning a whopping hundred dollars on her very first card! But her husband didn’t like her going too often. Brandon Lockwood thought it was a waste of money and time. She tried to coach it as being neighborly, doing her good deed for the week, but gave up and only went occasionally. Her husband was a stubborn, somewhat old fashioned man, but more on that later.

She often told Brandon she needed to get out of the house more. Even their daughter, Angela, agreed with this, and complained about it often. Allison was getting older and really didn’t have any close friends. When Angela was small, she was always running, always too busy. But now...

She wanted friends to go to lunch with. Maybe a night of playing cards while enjoying a glass of wine or two.  Brandon told her to take a painting class at the college, she could meet women who enjoyed it as much as she did. So Allison enrolled in a painting class. That lasted six weeks because Brandon found out the models were twenty-five years old who often posed nude. Allison never told him, but one night he found her sketch book, and put a stop to the classes.

Brandon never seemed the jealous type while they were dating so she couldn’t understand the jealousy he exhibited after they married. What was she supposed to do with herself while he was overseas on business, stay home and bake cookies, and eat them herself?

Now, Angela was grown and in college, and had her friends. Allison needed something to occupy her time, so she joined a book club. The book club helped a little, but the women didn’t seem too friendly towards her so after a few months she stopped going.

Allison tried getting Brandon into having date nights when he would be home, but he didn’t seem to like that either. As her husband got older he seemed to change, and not for the better. With Angela out of the house they could go out to dinner, or movie. Have more sex. But none of that never happened. He seemed to spend even less time at home, and when he was home he made excuses why he couldn’t take her out.

Allison recalled several conversations with her sister about wanting to try adding some kink to the bedroom. Mavis said go for it. When Allison talked to Brandon about adding another man into their relationship Brandon threatened to leave her. He never did, but she always worried he would. Since Brandon didn’t like the idea of another man in the bedroom she brought up bondage, toys, and role playing. He hated the idea. One day he flat out told her to stop with all nonsense.  Their sex life was good enough for him. So she dropped it to save her marriage.

Brandon died the following week in a sleazy hotel a mile from their home. Allison was shocked to learn Brandon had been seeing a woman for three years. She was even more shocked to learn the woman was 26.

Three years ago while sitting out in the patio, sipping a glass of Blush wine Brandon lied to her.

Are you having an affair Brandon?

    No, why?

You’re never home. If you are home, you won’t touch me, and sex is almost non- existent. You won’t take me out, we never do anything together anymore.

The job is stressful and Allison’s college bills need to be paid. I don’t see you working your ass off to pay for anything. Don’t push me, Allison. You won’t like it. I’m not having a god damn affair.

    Bastard.

Allison poured herself another glass of wine after hearing the front door slam shut. When the first bottle was empty she went into the kitchen and opened another bottle.

After the grieving period was over, Allison began her new life. She signed up for another painting class, and went on wine tours. She even joined a crocheting - circle down at the mall.

She found a Bingo hall a mile from her home, and started going to the afternoon sessions. Doris had long ago moved from her small two bedroom home into an assisted living home. She lasted maybe six months before
