A Discrete Inquiries Novel Series

Serving in the Army is an experience all of its own as Walt was soon to learn.  His assignment of working in a stockade resulted in friendships that carried over into civilian life.  After their discharge, four friends joined together to operate Discrete Inquiries, a private investigation agency. They soon became embroiled in a case involving a young girl, her family and the hoodlums who preyed upon her.  The unfeeling judge, an unfair assistant DA and the solutions of Walt and his associates makes for interesting reading.  Some unique handling of those responsible for the problems with more than a few breath-holding events will keep your interest, if not always earning your approval. Under the Polish Moon is about life and the problems some of us face.  We see the kind of people who try to harm us and those who live their lives trying to be of help. Walt’s humor shows through even in the trying times.  The character’s lives and loves are probably similar to people you know.  Maybe even yourself.

   Under the Polish Moon is a story of the formation of a private investigation firm named Discrete Inquiries by WILLARD W.WICKHAM III.    Willard's Army career is exemplary when he is assigned as a prison officer.   Two inmates of the stockade, JIMMY JOHN PHILLIPS and SAMUEL BROWN were sentenced for relatively minor infractions.  They became indispensable to Willard as inside helpers.    After his release he is accepted in the Milwaukee Police Department.  He retires after being shot in a robbery. Willard and his wife GINNY buy a PI firm with his associate SERGEANT LOWELL, Willard's First Sergeant.  They are joined by Phillips and Brown and begin hiring out to people who cannot handle the threatening circumstances that beset them.    Crooked attorneys and a self-serving District Attorney complicate matters.  Their clients' problems are handled in a way to maintain their dignity and return them to their normal, unthreatening lifestyle.

      Those of us who have gone through the rigors of a court trial seeking justice often wish there was another way.      Willard A. WickhamIII and his staff at Discrete Inquiries sometimes look for a shortcut.  They know the law and make every effort to work within the constraints it requiries. On occasions it's just too much.      As private investigators they may be all alone trying to protect their client or just some helpless person.      When they run into Muslim terrorists who obey no rules, they have little choice. At those times they resort to giving Lady Justice a little extra help. Then Willard, Jon, Breeda and Tyronne do what they feel they have to...

For the first time, Private Investigators BREEDA and TYRONNE GARRAH, a very compatible husband and wife team are sent to Asia for their client.  Unforeseen actions have them wondering how to successfully complete their commitments. Upon returning home an employee comes up with a new personal security device.   Their many women clients want DISCRETE SECURITY so other people can not know about their problems. Discrete Inquiries continues to use well trained employees, and K-9 trained dogs.   The dogs can go where a person cannot. They can apprehend criminals without putting their human handlers in danger. Together they make a great team. Enjoy feelings of satisfaction as the clients’ complex dangers dissolve under the protection of this PI firm, usually with a happy ending.

     Breeda watches helplessly as husband, Tyronne, is brutally murdered. Now she’s determined to carry on alone and take down those criminals that escape the law. Under the supervision of Smit, a leader of a highly-skilled government agency, Breeda is successful; mostly.       After running into drug smugglers in Phoenix, Breeda follows the gang leader, Jose Contros, to Las Vegas. She saves Coeta from a prostitution ring. Then on to South America where agents, Debbie, Dick, and Dolly, assist her in eliminating Contros as he continues his drug smuggling activities.      Once back home, Breeda is paired up with Lee, from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as they tie up all the loose ends of the Contros empire.

Beyond Breeda, traces the name Breeda, from her ancestors back in 1880, to the present day. They have arrived at the Red River by the boarders of Texas and Oklahoma, after a very difficult trip   from their home in Tennessee. The beauty is enough to make them stop there to build their home.  It is a shock finding that the law has not yet come to that part of the West. They often had to be their own law. Beyond Breeda, looks at living in the West with Breeda Walsh, then through five generations, to the present day, Breeda Garrah.
