      ABOUT THE AUTHOR

      Chapter One

      One evening after dinner as Athena lay across her bed she wondered to herself why certain people sometimes do not care about other people’s feelings. Her thoughts were on what happened in school earlier that day. Athena is a fourth-grader who is nine years old. She has an olive complexion, brown curly hair, big round brown eyes, and a body that wasn’t to slender or cubby. She is very sensitive to other people feelings and everyone knew her as a kid who wouldn’t make fun of others and always stood up against bullying or teasing. She is also quite creative and explores her creativity in art, craft, and music. Athena likes going to museums and seeing all kinds of things from around the world. Whenever she wasn’t busy with school work, she spent a lot of time lying on her bed letting her imagination roam freely as she imagined things. She often imagined a better world where everything was beautiful and everyone only had to worry about making beautiful things and laughter; a world where no one had to worry about bullies, teasing or sad things happening. Aside from her obsession with creativity and exploring her imagination, she loves recess in school, because she gets to learn new things from other kids and also get to play with her classmates.

      She was always eager and quick to learn new things and her classmates loved to play with her. Earlier that day on the playground at school she noticed Timothy her classmate was not playing with the rest of them.
