COVER
PREFACE
THIS BOOK INTENDS TO SUGGEST IDEAS FOR PREVENTION AND NOT FOR MEDICAL THERAPY, DOES NOT RELIEVE FROM TURNING TO OWN DOCTOR IN THE PREVENTION AND IN THE CARE OF NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES.
THERE ARE SOME CONTENTS WHITHOUT SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE FOR NOW, BUT WE
NEED TO REFLECT.
DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my mother who never knew hospital admission. She lived up to 96 years old in mental lucidity and, the day before the death, she asked this question: why must we die?
ON THE COVER THERE IS A PAINTING OF MY INTERPRETATION OF A PICTURE OF MANET, WHICH HE EXECUTED AT A RIPE OLD AGE. IT REPRESENTS A FLOWER, SYMBOL OF LIFE, WITH THE BROKEN STEM TO EXPRESS THE END OF THE LIFE.
The advices contained in this ebook do not exempt you from hearing the opinion of your doctor.
INTRODUCTION
Our heart makes 120,000 beats a day at rest;
the lung takes 30,000 breaths in one day.
Every day 50-100 billion cells of our body die and are replaced by new cells.
MAN IS A LIVING MIRACLE, THAT WE NEGLECT WITH OUR STYLE OF LIFE, WITH POLLUTION, ETC ...
Some pharmaceutical companies have abandoned the scientific research to defeat Alzheimer's and other neurological diseases, because there are evidently no useful results for the therapy.
WE MUST TURN THE REFLECTORS ON THIS DISEASE AND IMPROVE OUR CULTURE OF HEALTH TO PREVENT MANY OTHER DISEASES. In fact, preventing Alzheimer's will also prevent heart attacks, stroke, tumors, etc.
There will be 80 million Alzheimer's patients in the world in 2050, that is one per 100.
Thus, at G8 this disease has been defined as a world health emergency
.
In Alzheimer's or neurological diseases, which gradually tend to get worse until the end of their life in about ten years.
In Japan, Alzheimer's patients will be twice as many today in a few years. By 2025, one in five over the age of 65 will suffer of Alzheimer.
So much so that Japan has established a plan: courses for family members, in each city a special stable reference structure, several conversations a week, having an occupation even after retirement, assigning a bar code for recognition in case of disappearance of the patient. Five hundred twenty thousand are already on the list for assistance.
In Mexico there are cases of Alzheimer's even in children 8 years of age due to the highest pollution in the world.
In Italy, eighty percent of these patients are assisted at home with great family sacrifice. Their cost is around 12 billion a year.
The onset of Alzheimer's disease is due to multiple causes, so it is difficult to find a single remedy, at least for now.
All that remains is the PREVENTION AND BRAKE THE DISEASE through many strategies such as:
-EARLY DIAGNOSIS WITH THE PHYSICIAN OF CONFIDENCE;
-TO CONSULT THE VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATIONS FOR ASSISTANCE;
-A NEW STYLE OF LIFE;
-THE INTAKE OF VITAMINS OR SUPPLEMENTS, WHICH GO TO FILL FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEFICIENCES;
-THE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY carried out regularly during the week, every day, must not be stressful, not too prolonged, of aerobic type, of maintenance of muscular length, with exercises of stretching the column (to maintain the functioning of the legs), for example: DANCE, NORDIC WALKING, WALKS, CYCLING ROUNDS, HALF AN HOUR A DAY AT LEAST, ETC ...);
-A PERSONALIZED DIET, DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER, BECAUSE WE ARE DIFFERENT.
In order to maintain a satisfactory condition of self-sufficient life of the sick and for the family, as long as possible,maintaining a good affectivity, and thus saving
