Under the leadership of Cinty Joubert, a group of sewers from Friemersheim use only South African Three Cats shweshwe fabric for the kitchenware (serviettes, tea towels, tablecloths), gifts, buttons, toys, bags and lovely PROEbags (non-electric slow cookers) that are made and sold here under the instruction of Nelma Ruschioni and Rosanne de Kock. You can also buy some of Ent Speelman’s Gonnakraal honey and Petra Jordaan’s lavender salt, and as long as you book in advance, it’s possible to enjoy a cup of tea and a “plate of sweetness” with one of Petra’s koeksisters in lavender syrup, a “bobotie bondeltjie” from Hester Uithaler’s kitchen and one of
