Stress is the most common ailment that causes people to pursue meditation. In a recent study of 3,500 adults showed that meditation did in fact live up to its reputation for reducing stress. Stress, whether it be mental or physical is caused by the increased levels of cortisol which is the body’s stress hormone. This produces all the harmful symptoms of stress.
