      Prologue:

      Bakers have my full respect for their skill & patience. They follow a script handed down from the pocket of Moses. Reverence for time-tested recipes. Reverence for exact amounts. Bread that tastes good. Identical process yields identical results: loaf after exact loaf.

      An obvious motive:

      With the respect part out of the way, the rest of this text is heresy. If I’m found swinging from a tree, these words will be why. I do however feel safe in this risk, as bakers are generally a calm lot, and not affluent enough to hire such a thing out. However, I have a retired baker friend. He did very well in his career – HE could afford a hit man, so I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t say anything about this to Carl.

      Culinary disobedience:

      Clear your mind, forget anything that ever made you think you couldn’t do this, and in the next twenty-some minutes, prepare yourself to enter the action packed, fast-paced world of baking bread.
