    Introduction

An Empath is someone who has the capacity to feel what other people feel. Have you ever been sitting in a room with someone, and without words, you just knew what happened to them at work that day? Have you ever had an experience where you left a party at a friend’s house, and you felt depressed and unworthy without knowing why? When you spend time with others, does it change the quality of your emotions or thoughts in a significant way? Are you able to pick up on other’s concerns, fears, doubt and worries before they even tell you what they are?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you are most likely an Empath. Many people confuse being an Empath with being empathic; however, there is a great difference. To be an Empath, you must accept that you are not just an empathic person or friend and that you are more open to relating to someone else’s personal feelings through receiving their emotional energy directly.

We are all energy, and our system of energy is always throbbing and pulsing with how we think, feel, react, and respond. Empaths are highly sensitive to the energy of others, but it doesn’t mean they are highly sensitive emotionally. This can come as a surprise to any Empath who has always been told they are too sensitive or too emotional.

An Empath is neither of these things; they are simply attaching to the feelings of others more easily than they understand or realize. If you think you may be an Empath, this book is for you. If you have had a long life of taking on the cares, worries, fears, and concerns of others on a deep and intense level, then you need to read this book.

There are a lot of tools, tricks, and guidelines within these pages to help you find a good balance and keep your energy clear so that you are not collecting and keeping the unwanted energy of others. This book will offer explanations and understandings about what can be troublesome as an Empath, and also what a gift and benefit it is to your life.

Throughout these pages, you will find all of the resources that you will need to understand, embrace, and healthfully walk the path of the Empath. So, what are you waiting for? Begin your journey today!

Chapter 1: What is an Empath?

As you begin to discover more about the world of the Empath, it is important to gain a clear understanding of what makes some people this way. How do you become an Empath, or are you born with this gift? What makes someone an Empath or just an empathic person?

In this chapter, you will learn what the most common traits of the empath are, how it feels, and what it can look like. We are always looking for an answer to our questions, and this chapter will help you understand how to identify if you or someone you know is an Empath.

As you read with an open mind, be prepared to unlock some of your own answers to your life questions. You may find that you were an Empath all along, and you just weren’t sure how to identify your experience. Having a clear understanding of what it feels like or how it manifests in your daily life can help you achieve the knowledge to claim your unique gift and live in harmony with it throughout your life.

Are You Empathic or an Empath?

So, what’s the difference? How can you be an empathic person and not be an Empath? Aren’t they the same thing? There is a big difference between the two. To be an empathic person, all you need is the ability to understand someone else’s feelings. When you are with your friends, family, or colleagues and they share something profoundly emotional, you may be able to relate to their experience empathically or simply to understand where
