    Hello, welcome to Cuttin’ Carbs, I am a Certified Health Coach, Chef, Recipe Developer, Certified Yoga Instructor and Owner of Healthy Living with Connie. My goal is to inspire you to eat healthy. I am committed to showing you that cooking and eating nutritiously can be educational and fun! For me, and I am sure for yourself new challenges present themselves daily. Please be kind to yourself and keep moving toward your goal(s). We are all striving to be our best. Pat yourself on the back when you accomplish your goals, however small they may be. Believe me when I say, I’m positive you will start feeling healthier, inside and out, by cutting your carbs. I always say, Take care of your body and it will take care of you. I strongly believe this because I lived it.

    I would like to take this time to share my journey with you. For 38 years I was always on the thinner side and had an exceedingly difficult time gaining weight. Then in July of 2012, I had a nervous breakdown. I was taken to the hospital and admitted to the psychiatric ward (I am no longer embarrassed about revealing my journey). I, grudgingly, followed the doctor’s guidance and took every medication that was prescribed to me. Unfortunately, one of the medications caused a severe side effect. I gained 131 pounds in one year! Conscientiously, this increased my depression, anxiety, impression of myself and health problems (acid-reflux, high blood pressure, bad SI joint, and strenuous pain throughout my body). In May of 2018, I told myself, This is it! I am through with feeling unhealthy, both mentally and physically. So, I decided to discontinue all my medications. To put it bluntly, I went Cold Turkey (I DO NOT advise this, unless under the care of a physician). Admittedly, that was a very rough couple of detoxing weeks! I credit God and my guardian angels for seeing me through it all successfully! I changed my lifestyle in several ways (nutritionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually). As of September 2019, I had lost 113 pounds. I succeeded this tremendous weight loss by eating healthy and cutting my carbs. This was accomplished without the use of diet pills or drinking any special shakes. I simply cut down on my daily carb intake. The most rewarding outcome of this lifestyle shift is, I am 100% natural, now. I am no longer prescribed a single medication. My mental health and high blood pressure issues have been resolved. I am still maintaining my good health, and will continue to do so, for the rest of my life. I feel terrific! Once I began cutting my carbs back, I quickly noticed my pounds melting away. I recall visiting family in November 2018, for a couple weeks, and I lost 9 pounds. This was done over the Thanksgiving holiday! When you are someone like me, who has overcome many mental and physical health problems, you tend to strive harder to meet your goals. I am grateful for all my struggles and the dark times I had to face head on. I have renewed strength and a more positive outlook on life. I am immensely proud of myself and I continue to maintain a 100-pound weight loss as of July 2020. I pledge to those reading my story here,
