      First, I'd like to thank God for trusting me with His revelation and the ability to transcribe, in this book, what He wrote in my spirit throughout the trials and tribulations of my transformation.

      I humbly, in my heart of hearts, would like to thank my mother, Annie Rivers, for always keeping me grounded as a young boy developing into a man. Her soft voice always spoke VOLUMES to my spirit as I was faced with life's decisions.

      A young man can't ignore the importance of having a father in his life. So, my next thank you has to go out to my dad, Rickey Rivers, for caring enough to watch my environment, my company of friends, and my talents on the ballfields. He instilled in me that I was a born leader. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve disagreed in life. Even still, we never disconnected from one another as father and son! Thanks for raising a young boy into a man Pops, I put much respect on your name because of it!

      I thank God daily for my one and only biological sister, Krystal Rivers Johnson, who always had my back no matter how many times, in life, it was against the wall. We show so many how simple it is for siblings to walk together in this trying life.

      To my daughter Nia, I thank you for giving me a reason to live when I wanted to end my life prior to knowing you were coming into the world. I went through so much in my youth, striving to become a man. None of it could compare to the care and love I felt in my heart to provide for you once you were pushed out of your mother into my arms as your father. I pray this book inspires you to go after all your goals. I love you more than you’ll ever realize.

      I give glory, honor praise and thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a living testimony of His Word being true in so many ways, specifically in what became the scriptures I stand on still to this day.
