      THE SHADOW

      Late one afternoon, while walking along the road,

      I saw a semi truck, and wondered about its load.

      My thoughts were interrupted, as it came near,

      To think that I could be there, without any fear.

      The truck was going safely, staying in its lane.

      The shadow though passed over me without any pain.

      I heard the roar of the motor, I felt the rush of air,

      But when the truck had gone, I was still standing there.

      I think of our Heavenly Father, who told me in His word,

      There is only a Shadow of Death: Best news I ever heard.

      If you believe in Me, you will never die."

      That's the truth that comes to me, I need not cry.

      Walking down life's highway, I really need not fear.

      I might hear some wailing, and even see a tear.
