About this ebook
When Sakura is kidnapped by queenpin Kumi Katsura, the four mercenaries scramble to save her. While held hostage, Sakura learns the legend of the goddess Shira, and as a result, memories of her old life begin to unlock – as well as memories of her love for Miyu and Miyu's rivalry with Koharu for her affections. Don't miss the second installment of this lesbian romance series!
--
"How much do you know of the goddess Shira?" Kumi asked, watching Sakura quietly from the bed.
"Not much," Sakura admitted, chewing.
Kumi nodded, as if that was to be expected. "Then listen, child, and listen well. A long time ago, when the world was still green, the goddess Shira walked among mortals and lived among us. Eventually, she fell in love with the mortal Taki. Other mortals grew envious of their love, and the goddess was slain."
Sakura frowned. "But . . . how can you slay a goddess?"
Kumi smiled. "You can't. Not really. In despair, Taki buried the goddess beneath an ancient maple tree, whose red leaves shed like blood over the grave. On the third day, the goddess Shira rose again to walk the earth with her beloved Taki."
"And they lived happily ever after?" mocked Sakura sullenly and shoved more noodles in her cheek.
--
The sound of shattering glass made Sakura scream, and she lifted her head, watching in shock as Miyu came flying through the window. The pink-haired cyborg flipped and landed in a squat in the middle of the room. As she reached back for her katana, her menacing eyes were fixed with hatred upon Akari, who scowled and leapt to her feet at once, ripping her own katanas from her back. Miyu leapt to her feet, Akari ran at her, and Sakura watched, mouth open, as the two women fell into terrible battle. And they were battling for her!
--
"So what did we do in there?" Sakura asked to change the subject and nodded at the nightclub. Her tone was playful, and she was glad when Miyu grinned around the e-cig in her teeth.
"I taught you why it's called the Pink Rocket," Miyu answered. "See, they give out free bullets to first-time visitors, and since it was your first time. . . ."
Sakura's nose scrunched up. "Why a bullet?"
Miyu laughed. "No, baby, not that kinda bullet," she said.

Chapter 1
That morning – or what would have been morning if they’d been on the surface – they were attacked again, this time by a white-haired neko who came crashing into their suite through the balcony doors on a hover bike.
As the bike came rocketing toward them, a panicking Koharu grabbed Sakura around the waist and tackled her out of the way. As chaos ensued, Sakura lay breathless beneath Koharu’s hard body, her heart pounding in her chest, and wanted to kiss her. It was like the parking lot outside the club all over again.
Koharu was barely paying attention to Sakura, however. Instead, she was fumbling inside her jacket, having realized her gun was out of rounds, as nearby, the others launched into action.
The neko was wearing a skintight black jumpsuit as she flipped nimbly through the air, launching herself from the bike – which stood in the fragments of the shattered coffee table. With polished black nails, she pulled two katanas from her back and smiled.
Grim-faced, Kaida fired her rifle. The neko flipped easily out of harm’s way, and frustrated, Kaida fired after her, opening a line of bullet holes in the wall. Ren joined in, pulling two handguns from her belt and firing both at once, her lips tight. The neko was just too fast, however, and fell to flipping and dodging as the hail of fire continued.
Miyu ran in, katana in hand, and brought her weapon down in a slice. The neko quickly parried, kicking Miyu away with a black high heel, so that she went tumbling over the kitchen counter and collapsed behind it.
Miyu!
Ren shouted. She glared at the neko and fired off more rounds, but the neko was quick, ducking the fire and flipping close. She landed in a catlike squat before Ren and spun around, leg out, knocking the legs from under Ren so that she fell over on her back, smacking her head against the wall in a sprinkle of blood. A furious Kaida ran up behind and was elbowed in the face in another splash of blood. She dropped.
Dammit,
Koharu growled, fumbling to get rounds in her handgun. The fight had happened so fast, she hadn’t had the chance, and now the white-haired neko was upon her.
The woman grabbed Koharu by the back of her jacket and dragged her to her feet, smacking the handgun from her fingers. Back to the neko, Koharu brought her metal arm up at once, intent on hitting her in the face, but the woman caught Koharu’s arm with lightning quick reflexes and twisted. Koharu screamed.
Koharu!
Sakura wailed, scrambling to her feet.
With a nasty smile, the neko was twisting and twisting Koharu’s arm, forcing the mercenary to bend forward, her face strained. It looked as if she would rip Koharu’s arm off!
Sakura didn’t know what she would do, standing there in nothing but a t-shirt and with no weapon. She only knew she must protect Koharu. Furious, she threw herself at the neko and scratched at her face.
The neko screamed as Sakura’s nails raked down her cheek, but to Sakura’s shock, there was no blood. She released Koharu, who fell with a moan of pain to the floor, and turning her glittering eyes to Sakura, she grabbed her by the throat and lifted her easily off her feet.
Sakura clawed feebly at the tight hand about her throat, her cat ears back as she choked for air. Spots
