No body can ignore the power of the west wind. So the poet allies himself with the wind and seas. A striking resemblance between him and the west wind. The wind as a destroyer and Preserver: The west wind is the vary life of the autumn season. And seen, in drives away withered leaves like an enchanter driving away ghosts. The leaves are multicolor and Shelley seas them as decease at rotting. So the wind drives them under ground. But the seeds carried to winter beds to come to life later in spring. Thus the wind performs the dual role as the destroyer and the preserver. The Winds influence on the sky: The poet then describes the power of west wind over the sky. Just as the wind carries the leaves, it shakes the clouds also. The clouds that hang on the entangled branches of heaven and sea are driven by it. The confused collection of storm clouds found the vault of a tomb rain, lightning, thunder and hail will come down from them. The Winds influence on the sea: The wind has its way on the sea also as a preserver. It wakes the meditation to realize. The beauty of the ruins that lied at the bottom of the sea as a destroyer. It ruffles the smooth and calm surface of the athletic ocean shakes with terror and rid themselves of the leaves. Conclusion: The poet calls upon the west wind to lift him as a wave, a leaf and a cloud. He makes thus share the impulses of the strength at the west wind and be lifted from the thanes of the life. Finally the poet Vegas the west wind to make him as its lyre. Through which the wind might breath mighty hormones. The poem ends with the hope that the west wind will carry the poet words over the sleeping humanity and be the trumpet of him proffer for the regeneration mankind.
