Unit 1: Big Group Activities
Essential Question: How do students challenge themselves (physically, emotionally and mentally) while appropriately and safely participating in outdoor/adventure education activities?

Essential Skills & Knowledge: Standard G - Movement/Motor Skills and Knowledge: Students demonstrate the fundamental and specialized movement skills and apply principles of movement and improved performance. - Various motor skills are important for most outdoor activities and is specific to the selected activity. Standard H- Physical Fitness Activities and Knowledge: Students demonstrate and apply fitness concepts. -Regularly participate in Big Group Activities to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

Standard I- Personal and Social Skills and Knowledge: Students demonstrate and explain responsible personal behavior and responsible social behavior in physical activity settings. -Apply rules, strategies, procedures, and etiquette. -Recognize and resolve conflicts during physical activity. -Demonstrate and promote positive sportsmanship during activities
