Introduction
The Department of Posts, trading as India Post, is a

government-operated postal system in India.


The Indian Postal Service has 154,866 post offices, of

which 139,040 (89.78%) are in rural areas and 15,826 (10.22%) are in urban areas.
Post is a very unique distribution channel spread all

over the country and most of that areas where it was difficult to reach and communicate.
Jyotir adtiya became the minister of post and

telegraphs in 2005.

Project Arrow
Project Arrow was launched in April 2005.

Jyotir adtiya began project arrow to change the post offices

into places.
Project has been implemented in respect of monitoring of

core areas in more than 15,500 Post Offices and "Look and Feel" has been improved in 1,530 Post Offices.
New corporate identity for India post was created and a

new logo with a plan of restructuring.
