Kindergarten *Student will identify feelings (mad, sad, happy, proud, excited, scared) from books, pictures, and posters and name a cause for the feelings. *Students will be able to identify a trusted adult they can talk to if they are having uncomfortable feelings. *Students will know that all feelings are OK to have. *Students will illustrate the coping skills of icicle, press and count, and deep breathing. First & Second Grade *Students will identify different feelings through pictures, facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, and words. *Students will know that all feelings are OK. *Students will be able to share times they have had different feelings and what happened to make them feel that way. *Students will be able to name a trusted adult they can talk to during difficult times. *Students will name two strategies they can use to help themselves feel better. Third Grade *Student will be able to fill in the blanks for the following sentence. All feelings are (OK) to have, it's what we (DO) that makes a difference. *Students will be able to list related feeling words (scared - frighten terrified) for comfortable and uncomfortable feelings. *Students will name three coping skills that a person can use to change their uncomfortable feelings. *Students will explain the "I think-I feel" coping strategy for changing uncomfortable feelings. * Students will be able to fill in the feelings equation "Your feeling -(Stop Fourth & Fifth Grade *Student will be able to identify 5 comfortable/uncomfortable feelings and list 5 coping strategies that can help a person change their uncomfortable feelings. *Students will be able to explain the coping skills of Reframing and the Rule of 5. *Students will define empathy and apply empathetic actions/responses in role play situations.
