ASSIGNMENT
SUBJECT: PROPERTIES PRACTICE 2 MODULE: Dynamic TUTOR: Todd Arthur ASSIGNMENT TITLE: Molieres lovers DUE DATE: Thursday 1st of November Assignment Objective:
To investigate mechanisms for the generation of movement in objects. To intrinsically incorporate said movement functionally and aesthetically. To develop collaborative work processes with other creative disciplines.

Outcomes:
a) Intermediate craft, technical and presentation skills. d) Extended research methodologies related to the creation of properties. f) Broadened knowledge of suitable materials, tools and techniques in order to satisfy the aesthetic, structural and mechanical requirements particular to the specifications of the design concept and the demands of performance. g) Understanding and application of the principals of Occupational Health and Safety and other requirements related to project and production work.

Guidelines / Constraints:
Students will each produce one puppet within their puppetry module that will be used to perform in this collaborative exercise. This puppet will be used in conjunction with that of a fellow student to perform in three pieces, written and directed by a different student from the directing course. Groups shall be; Harriet Gillies, Luke Rogers, and Derek Walker, will work With Ellisha James, Emily Adinolfi Lucas Jervies, Phillip Rouse, and Pierce Wilcox, will work with Like Brooks and Ashleigh Kennedy

The piece(s) to be performed will be drafted and delivered to the appropriate students and the Head of Properties at or before 1300 Tuesday 4th September 2012. This piece shall be a romantic scene in the style of Moliere. The puppet shall have a base costume (white blouse) and will have at least on additional costume element for each performance. Props 2, as a class group shall devise, design and produce a self contained puppet theatre in the style of those performed in by Moliere. Within this theatre all six performances shall be staged in succession. Each Piece shall incorporate at least on mechanised set element. The six pieces will be performed live on Thursday 24th of October this performance will be captured on a single fixed camera from a central position front of stage. The aspect of the camera/screen shall be predetermined and the proportions of all set elements built to suit. Each performance shall be no less than 2mins 30 seconds nor more than 3mins in duration. In the week after the performance the resultant footage will be compiled and edited by the props students such that it may be screened at 1310 Thursday 1st of November. All related materials and process documentation will be submitted for assessment 1200 Thursday 1st of November Properties 2 will present a draft individual and group production schedule accompanied by anticipated MSDSs and SWMS at or before 1200 Friday 14th September
