LESSON PLAN FOR ENGLISH GRADE VII I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, students should be able to: describe his/her own friends. cite personal experiences about friendship. appreciate the meaning of friendship through the selection Damon and Pythias. identify words with affixes. II. Subject Matter Damon and Pythias, affixes Reference: Ventures in Communication 1, pp.103-104 Material: audio recording III. Procedure A. Daily Routine B. Warm-Up/Motivation * Play the song One Friend. Ask the students to jot down the characteristics of a friend from the song. * Associate words/phrases to the word Friendship C. Presentation * Ask introductory questions. * Inform the students that they will listen to the selection. * After the listening activity, let the students discuss verbally the important points in the story, such as main characters, setting and theme. * Discuss the ff. questions: -What is your idea of a true friend? - Are you willing to give up your life for your friend? - If you were Pythias would you take the place of Damon in prison? * Discuss about affixes. IV. Evaluation Identify words with affixes in the given paragraph about friendship. V. Assignment Differentiate connotation and denotation of a word.
