ACTIVITY NO.

4
CORE AND DELTA LOCATION

OBJECTIVE: To be able to identify the

correct location of the core and delta in a fingerprint pattern.

PROCEDURE: Draw a fingerprint

pattern and label the core and delta.

EVALUATION QUESTIONS:
1. Define the Core and Delta.

2. Why the core and delta considered

the FOCALL POINTS of a fingerprint pattern?

ACTIVITY NO. 5
RULES IN CORE LOCATION

OBJECTIVE: To be able to identify the

core in a fingerprint pattern in case of several ridges inside the innermost part of the pattern.
PROCEDURE: Illustrate the following

rules:

The core is placed upon or within the

innermost sufficient recurve.

When the innermost sufficient recurve

contains uneven number of rods rising as high as the shoulders, the core is placed upon the end of the center rod whether it touches the looping ridge or not.

When the innermost sufficient recurve

contains an even number of rods rising as high as the shoulder, the core is placed upon the two center rods being treated as though they were connected by a recurving ridge.

ACTIVITY 6
FINGERPRINT PATTERNS

OBJECTIVE: To be acquainted with the

fingerprint patterns.

PROCEDURE: Define and draw the

fingerprint patterns. The drawing should be placed below each definition.

ACTIVITY 7
RIDGE COUNTING AND RIDGE TRACING

OBJECTIVE: To be able to conduct

ridge count and ridge trace of a

fingerprint pattern
PROCEDURE:

1. Draw a loop and conduct ridge

count, then indicate the number of ridges

2. Draw a whorl pattern and conduct ridge

trace

EVALUATION QUESTIONS:

1. Define ridge count and ridge trace.

2. What is the importance of ridge count

and ridge trace of fingerprint patterns?
