Recommendations of NWICO

The developed countries should be more open to redress the ever-increasing asymmetrical economic relations between them and poor countries. The developed world could make available resources for communication specific projects in the poor regions of the world. New technologies needed to be viewed as resources for the benefit of the mankind and not as a new tool for exploitation of the disadvantaged

Steps are needed to establish a balance in the information flow by devoting more space and time to news and issues concerning the developing countries. The developed countries should join hands with the developing countries in making the telecommunication tariffs more suitable for better use of existing systems.

The developing world, on the other hand, needs to formulate communication policies, without which the media development would get hampered. The press must make conscious efforts to free itself from the attitudes fostered by the western news criteria.
