(Plato, c. 380 BC, Meno) The Story The Library of Dreams A young girl called Dido, woke up in a dream. She remembers a pleasant dream, skipping through an autumn forest when all of a sudden, she thought to turn around. She turned, quickly and suddenly, and saw not the forest stretching behind her but a murky, half drawn blur of forest and nothingness. Everything went dark. And now here she is, awake in the gaps between dreams, in the corridors of the Library of Dreams and the Librarian is watching. The Brief Generic Name Studios is beginning development on their latest game, The Library of Dreams. It is a game aimed at school children (ages 7-12). Its platform will be smartphones and tablets, to target the growing audience of school children who are permitted to use their parents technology to be kept entertained. It is an adventure game, with emersion and exploration at its centre. Whilst it is meant to be somewhat scary the child is very much in the role of the hero and the bringer of happiness. The main villain of the game is the Dream Librarian, who is the keeper of this realm. It is the distributor of dreams, both happy and nightmarish. Your job as a character designer is to create this creature. Deadline Requirements 1. A fully rigged, skinned and textured character. a.
